So if you find a skull in a co-op game it awards it to both of the players in the game?

Yessir.

Well once the first person picks it up everyone could just check to see if they got the achievement. If so, then they got credit for the skull.

I had to have my wife help me get the fourth skull in the game tonight and I was amazed that once I touched it she got the achievement as well. I figured it was a glitch or I was just seeing things. A ten hour day after 3 hours of sleep will do that to you when the only thing keeping you going in Red Bull.

You know, I'll assume Halo 3 isn't the first to allow you to watch video of previous gameplay but there's something really cool about how it's done here.

I played around with that last night and it is awesome!! It's like moving around through a 3-D picture. You can see any inch of the map at any given time of the game, from any angle. I like watching the assault rifle in slow-mo with the empty shell casings flying out, seeing the blood suspended in mid-air as bullets hit someone, etc... Really impressive stuff. Screenshots look like pictures from a magazine, not from a game.

I just got back from vacation, and beforehand, I finished 6 of the 9 missions. I don't know if it is because I am out of practice, or if it is a lot harder, but the last part of Ch 8 (I still haven't finished it all) has been pretty hard. I am also playing on normal.

I don't know where or how I got turned around, but I ended up going into the wrong room and I was wandering around there for ages before going back and ending up in a different room, which is the room I needed to go to (the room where I broke the orb and now have to blow up things).

I bought a new microphone today, so I'll be back in the land of the communicating.

Chapter 8 is by far, IMHO, the hardest in the game, and the most confusing when it comes to level layout, since everything basically looks the same.

A buddy and I went through the first 5 or 6 skulls. I picked them all up. He didn't touch any of them and got all the achievements and access in the menu to activate them.

That specific skull you are talking about is a bizaare one to say the least. I wouldn't be surprised if the rules are different for that one.

That particular skull i tried for last night. I have been playing single player on Heroic. I picked up my game part way through the level, hopped all the rings in order, skull appears, i pick it up and carry it back to the end of the level. No achievement triggered when i picked it up. When i hopped in the hole at the end of the level and triggered the cut scene and next chapter i still received no achievement.

Yeah, I had to do it twice. I couldn't even get it to appear the first time no matter how many times I repeated the pattern.

Good thing is you can drop it down to Normal when you restart the level. That way you can go through the level a bit quicker. Be sure to start at the beginning.

I'm pretty sure that's one of the silver skulls, you only unlock achievements for the 9 gold skulls.

What exactly does the IWHBYD Skull do when its activated?

It basically unlocks dialogue. The brutes now say some off color stuff, they talk shit on you...it's uncensored.

The best was a brute yelling "You killed my boyfriend!" and the grunt yelling "You Pussy!"

Turns on different dialog during the game. Characters that said one thing during one play through, now say something totally different. To the best of my knowledge.

Definitely. I couldn't believe how easy chapter 9 was, especially after how difficult chapter 8 was. After I got on the vehicle, I think that I only had to restart once, and that was only because I made a blind turn incorrectly.

I think I may have played on the worst team EVER last night!!! Argh!! We lost a territories match (big team battle) 10-2. Everyone was mic'd up and only two of us were talking and trying to coordinate, everyone else was in Rambo mode.

This leads me to my one gripe about H3's (and most console)online games. The inability to have people join mid match. 2 people bailed on us after the first round, so we played the rest of the match down 2 players. I know this probably messes with how they award skill and rank but they should at least allow it in social matches. It would also make booting a player easier to do since you wouldn't be punishing your own team by getting rid of a bad/unruly player.

I wish they would adopt an Enemy Territory method of rewarding individual exp points instead of what amounts to team points. That way you get something out of a match even if you lose. I mean, how crappy is it to lead your team in kills/captures or whatever and end up losing and getting no reward. You get punished because you are randomly assigned a team of idiots, just like a no skill noob can latch onto a good team and collect rewards for doing nothing.
