My first laser triple kill. Was aiming for the guy in the bottom left (he had a laser and was aiming at my team's warthog I believe). Right as I fired, the Warthog came flying from above and landed right where I fired. I thought for a moment it was my warthog, but then heard "TRIPLE KILL!" Love it.

So far, the game has been much of the same. I just finished Resident Evil 4 so I found myself running, shooting, and looking for items and puzzles for the 1st 20 minutes of playing Halo 3.

Anyway, the location designs are nice and the some of the new weapons are cool but I haven't been blown away yet. The use of 5.1 is great but since I was playing at 3am I coudn't really crank the stereo so we'll see how things sound when I get a chance to pump it. I decided to take a chance and do something different by playing on Heroic instead of starting on Normal and it's been a challenge. I can tell already this is going to be a lot of playing sections over and over again until Luck kicks in and I can advance.

Maybe I was tired when I started it but one thing I found kinda confusing was the menus. I wasn't quite sure where to start.

The menus blow. Even now that I'm used to them I find them a pain to navigate.

I finally made it out of basic training and into normal rankings last night.

Dude, that's awesome...both the triple kill, and the fact that you can come on here and show it off. I fucking love this shit.

I had never been on the Bungie site to check this stuff out. That's damn cool.

Finally beat the game on Heroic. Whoever designed that last warthog level can eat a dick. Seriously. Could you make it any harder to tell where the fuck you are suppose to go?

Didn't think Heroic was that hard though. Besides Level 8. Anything with The Flood in it is a bitch. Started playing on sunday so 4 days isn't bad.

Finally started the campaign tonight. Figured I would throw down and tackle Legendary right off the bat. Wasn't too rough until I hit the bridge. Holy fuck. I think I played that area for an hour and still didn't get past it.

I'm playing on Heroic and I'm not sure if I've hit that area yet, but I'll tell you...so far...the one thing that's been kicking my ass more than anything else has been those Sniping Bastards. They've killed me more than anything.

That's part of the problem, you just have to take one of them out that you can get to so you can take his. Although, if I had to guess, the part you are at you can't get to those snipers. You just can't stand still. The next area will have a Beam Rifle you can get to help with the snipers.

I've noticed that the Arbitor is actually pretty useful. There seems to be some magical trigger points that let him advance to kick some ass. There seems to be two routes to take into most battles. If you take the correct one, he seems to charge full steam ahead whipping some ass and doesn't die. Just as long as you advance while he's doing this, he'll be okay and will actually take out a Brute or two. Kudos to Bungie for non stupid AI.

I've got a screenshot in my fileshare but it doesn't show up in the hi-res screenshot page on the bungie site. Anyone know what the difference between fileshare and hi-res screenshots is?

I got my screenshot to show up in the hi-res thing when I look at my bungie halo 3 profile by taking a snapshot while I was watching a saved film.

The game is "much of the same", but I'm finding it fun. My biggest issue is that sometimes I don't know where I'm supposed to go. "Lead the troops to..." - I'd love to honey, but I don't know where the hell we're going. I'm going to have to spend some time with the Warthog. That thing is tough to control.
I understand your trouble adapting after RE4. I had replayed Half-Life 2, and when I switched to Halo3 I kept running around looking for ammo!

The Warthogs have always handled like a dump trunk on a sheet of ice. Halo 3 is no different.

Finished it pretty quickly on normal. Guess I'll go back and do legendary. I wasn't too impressed with this game - single player. It's short and redundant. Bioshock is better and so is FEAR and Darkness. No innovation in this game beyond multiplayer (which I haven't messed with yet... perhaps that will change my opinion of the game). Not that anyone cares what I think anyway... this stupid thread is over 840 posts long.

The Needler works really well in those situations, I've found.

Bioshock is a better game. Darkness was fun, too, no doubt. But when you say Fear, do you mean the PC or the 360 version? Because I couldn't make it through Fear, as the framerate issues sucked all the fun out of the 360 version of the game.

Yeah, what's up with that? Who even likes these Halo games, anyway?

I find that if you're good at, say, old Sega Rally, then you can rock the warthog pretty well. It's all about powersliding and control of the bounciness...

For me, the Mongoose is much more difficult to control.

I was trying to view some vid clips on Bungie & I don't know how to do it. Nothing is 'clickable' except the tag & more posts by this user.

It's official. I suck at Halo online. I played 2 "Basic Training" matches and got one kill. I won't be venturing in there again.

If anybody is putting together a group for co-op on legendary let me know, I'd love to get in on it.

Full discloser: I'm not very good; I was able to make through heroic on my own, but more through persistence than skill.
