Duster72 has a gametype he created that i have been really digging. It is low gravity, damage resistance on, and everyone is running with hammers in a KotH game. The result is you hammer smash one person and the kickback effect in low gravity flings everyone in the area through the air. You can actually slam the hammer on the ground and throw your character in opposite direction (almost like rocket jumping). It is hella fun. He calls it Basebrawl. He also has a Basebrawl CTF gametype.

Check out his tag on Bungie.net or your friends list. He is sharing both games so you can download them straight from him or from the Bungie website.

Also, with H3 there is no need to share details on customs, you can straight up download the good ones from people.

Sweet crap, just checked out the interface on bungie.net. Freakin' sweet. I remember they had some pretty cool stuff for the Deuce, but the ability to do all the file sharing from their site is just spectacular!

Yeah, it's cool as hell. You can peruse maps and gametypes, add them to your queue, and when you log onto Halo 3, they automatically download. Very cool.

Yeah do people still reset their rankings?

this is probably a really dumb simple question but...

if i joined a friends coop campaign where he is the party leader, can people on my friends list join the game? i had a few requests last night but couldn't figure how to do it (only saw an option to 'accept invite' so thought i'd leave the original game if i selected it). my friend only has maybe five people on his list so it's really sad to be him

I finished the campaign last night on Heroic. Didn't seem like much of a challenge. The Flood was difficult in spots until I realized you don't really need to shoot the little guys. Most of the time they will avoid you. I liked the vehicle battles. I'd like to replay the game on Legendary some time in co-op mode. I'm getting tired on shotty snipers on highground. Bungie needs to mix up they're playlist a little more.

It is actually a really fun game. The low gravity makes it so you can jump really well and the gravity hammer forces people out of the hill when you strike with it.
It is a game of pure chaos and mayhem. Very fun.

Also, I believe some people on here sent me friend requests.

If you see me online and want to play, send me a message. Don't expect me to send you one otherwise -- I only send invites to people I have played with before.

After days of tedious research, I've found a perfect 3 step strategy for those that are looking to gain experience points every game. As long as you follow these three steps you've got a 99.9% chance of winning every game:

1) Play Social Slayer

2) Play with Czar on your team

3) Make sure you don't get killed too often

if you swing the hammer right before jumping in low gravity, the results are amazing

Somehow I'm ranked 16. I was at 8 on Sunday and by last night moved up to 16. I don't know how this is even possible. When i started playing yesterday i was at 14, within 30 -45 minutes I had moved up to a 16. It makes no sense at all.

Well, a group of us beat Legendary last night.

Spoiler:
My god, the last two levels sucked. Other than the race at the end with Halo falling apart (which was as awesome as it gets), they were just awful...easily my least two favorite levels.

We also missed the part after the credits...someone (or something, haha) pressed a button during them. Nobody's 'fessed up yet, though.

I may replay it on Normal to get the skulls and some of the point/terminal achievements, but the point achievements seem extremely difficult.

Probably won't be around for multiplayer tonight, but definitely will be on Wednesday evening.

Yeah, you say that every night. I'll see you after midnight.

But, yeah, the ending was kinda disappointing. You'd think they'd end the trilogy with something truly epic and it never came. Ah well.

When you find a skull, do you have to do anything, or does it just 'register' that you have it. I thought I remembered reading that you had to hold down the bumpers, but nothing happened when I did that.

Thanks,

Nope, all you have to do is pick it up. After that you can just drop it and keep on.

Thanks Steelgear.

Another question...I got a medal playing online & I don't remember how I got it:

Steaktacular

The icon says something like "Luke owes you dinner".

If you've beaten the level, you can quit.

The one really hard-to-get skull (where you literally jump through hoops) you need to finish the level with.

Some/all skulls don't appear if you load from a checkpoint.

You didn't think that
Spoiler:
the warthog race back to the ship
wasn't completely epic? To me it felt like something out of Aliens. I loved it.

If you've beaten the level you can quit? Does that mean you have to carry it around with you? Now I'm confused.

It would if it hadn't been done before. I liked the ending but it just felt too familiar to be great.

Didn't that happpen in the first Halo, though? Honestly I remember it being more fun then too.

Either way, I'm not saying I didn't like the game. On the contrary, as a whole I think it's the best of the three. I had a blast going through co-op with the other guys and can see myself replaying it again at some point for achievements or just to hang with some of you guys. I was just expecting some kind of epic Lord of the Rings battle I guess. I don't know, I can't explain it.
