They didn't seem to get much attention, but the updated versions of Centipede and Millipede on Arcade are pretty badass.

Has anyone tried out the Forza demo yet? I've been waiting for this one to come out for a while now.

I turned mine on today and got the 3 red lights, when you power cycled it you mean you just unpluged it for a while?

I just unpluged mine, Gonna wait a few minutes. Dam

I downloaded it this morning and did a couple laps. It looks really good. I've heard the surround sound on it is phenomenal, so I'm going to crank that up in a little bit.

ok, so I just made my second M$ call to have it shipped to them. I talked to a really nice guy who supposedly checked to see if I could get some type of discount because the update is what killed my system. of course I couldn't get one but he advised me to wait for a week if I could and maybe M$ would do some type of discount if enough reports come in about this. so I'm going to wait and see. I doubt it but maybe. so if your system died after the update please give MS a call.

Wait.. the update red ringed your system and they're making you pay for it? Really?

I believe that was supposed to be in this update as well. The ability to delete games off your gamertag. Low to zero pointers or games you are ashamed you put in the drive. Has anyone noticed the ability to do that yet?
And if anyone has, how do you do it? I looked through the dashboard and didn't
see the way myself, though it was 5am I'd really like to get rid of all those
demos that show up on my games list at zero points. Imo those shouldn't even
register until you purchase the full version to begin with.

Well my 360 Died. updated it yesterday then turned it on today and got 3 red lights. We shouldnt have to pay if its the update that killed it. 130 bucks is too much. they said they give you a year of xbox live but still.

No kidding. I would raise hell if they tried to get me to pay for a repair caused by an update.

yep. first thing they asked was when it was purchased. I told them on launch day. I gave them my console build date(which is 11-1-05) and almost immediately it was a "welp, it's long out of warranty so you'll have to pay to get it fixed". when I made my second call I told him I wasn't pleased that my console never had a single issue until it did the update. the guy put me on hold for about 10min. came back, apologized and told me what I posted above.

it's actually 140.00. they didn't tell me anything about a year of Live. the only thing I was told was I'd get a year warranty in case it broke again down the road.

Great, a "discount." That better be a 100% discount if the update was the cause, and this is widespread.

Now I'm worried that I'll go home tonight and get the three rings of death. Though I was in the clear after the update went without a hitch.

my near launch unit suffered no such fate. Don't fear the update.

Everyone always fears every update and patch and new game. I think people's console break from time to time and whatever they were doing last or when it broke is responsible for "bricking" their system.

Well, that depends. If your system was showing signs or symptoms of a possible breakdown and it just happens to breakdown at the same time as an update, then you have a valid point... BUT, if your system is working flawlessly up until you update it then it would certainly seem suspect.

exactly. I never had a problem with my system. I had one freeze during an online game of Full Auto when that game first came out and that was it. I never had a single disc read error or anything else for that matter until I downloaded the update yesterday and got my 3 red lights right on bootup afterwards.

Yeah, they're awesome but pretty tough. I need the big trackball! Then again it may be my hands all cramped up from the Pinball game.

random thought of the day :

you have to give it to MS. they build a system that hopefully lasts one year. they charge 50.00 a year for Live plus another 140.00 a year to keep replacing your system every year.

do the math:

XBox360 new - 400.00
Live - 50.00/year
repairing your system every year - 140.00/year

it's the gift that keeps on taking.

Foresight to heed peoples warnings and buy the warranty - priceless
