He said he doesn't like GoW or Halo, one's an action game the other's a shooter. If you don't like those types of games, your choices are a lot more limited.

Sounds kinda like the Japanese market overall. How did GOW (either series) do over there, anyway?

Assuming you weren't being facetious, I wouldn't say that. There are sports, racing, music, arcade/casual, fighting, and of course RPGs. Then there are all the games that don't fit neatly into categories, like Mirror's Edge and Flower.

Besides, God of War is hardly representative of many action games. Perhaps he just doesn't like repetitive button mashing games.

(I like GOW, but it does get a bit repetitive at times when they throw wave after wave of enemies at you.)

He said God of War isn't his cup of tea, and the same reason he didn't get into Halo. I was pointing out that not caring for God of War doesn't seem related to not liking Halo. Just weird to compare the two.

I really don't care for it either. I was going to pickup the enhanced PS3 versions of 1 & 2 so I could get them finished before 3 comes out but just haven't had the time with all the other games I've been playing.

RPG's and sports. Adventure games.

I like certain action and shooter games. MW2 was cool. Uncharted, etc.

I mentioned Halo because like GoW, I played Halo and Halo 2, but never finished them. They were fun but nothing I would buy and play alot. Just like GoW.

Oh and back on topic... how much of a difference is there really between the PS3 and 360 versions of FFXIII? I heard the PS3 runs in 1080p and the 360 only 720p. I'm more of an achievement guy than a trophy guy, so I'd rather get it on the 360.

The 360 version isn't even 720p, it runs at 576p including the fmv. If you have both consoles I don't see any reason to get it for 360.

Yeah, that's what I thought. It's a shame. Usually the 360 wins every time.

I'm pumped to get a game that really takes advantage of what the PS3 can do.

You hate the color white? In any case, it should come with an exclusive faceplate if you preorder it.

Yeah, all my other stuff is black, ps3, dvr, pc and tv. It would look out of place and I just like dark colors. Kind of makes me sick just looking at it.

I just hope that my PS3 remembers that it's 2010 and actually lets me play.

I'm worried it will know it's 2010 and refuse to let me play, citing the impossibility of FFXIII coming out before 2015.

Seems odd that you would want the FF13 packaging out of all the other bundles that have been out there, since the game looks better on the PS3 anyway.

360 looks noticeably worse, especially with the FMV sequences, albeit not particularly terrible. But also has a better frame rate.

After reading the eurogamer article it seems that the Final Fantasy team could have made the 360 version look better, but didn't use the correct tools. It's a shame, but to be honest I don't think most people would notice unless you had them running side by side.

I don't think there'd probably be a hugely noticable difference either. I'm getting it for the PS3 because I need a reason to own it beyond it being a BD player, haven't actually owned a game on it for about 2 months LOL

Well, it is the first Final Fantasy on the 360. No, FFXI doesn't count.

Maybe they might make the next one a bit better.
