Which role eventually learns haste? I'm guessing synergist?

I think so. I know Sabo learns slow. Both techniques help a ton.

Re: FFXIII Thread of chocobo ranching

That'll probably never happen. Too many people involved with the original have already said no.

Re: FFXIII Thread of chocobo ranching

i don't see what it has to do with the people involved in the original. if it's a Square Enix property, they can do with it as they please.

Yeah we really want the director of the Final Fantasy game that has no towns or cities to remake VII

I know you're trying to be clever, but that's just silly.

Plus, he actually worked on FF7. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Motomu_Toriyama

Re: FFXIII Thread of chocobo ranching

It doesn't really make a lot of economic sense for SquareEnix to remake VII, but I'd love to see it.

I wouldn't buy it.

FFVII was one of the weakest in the series, especially as far as story & characters go. It fooled a lot of people into thinking it was good due to being the first one with CG cut-scenes and 3D graphics, but in hindsight, it's one of the weakest FFs.

Although, if they remade FFVI, I'd be there in a fucking heartbeat!

i started with bully for a bit, switched to relentless assault, and went to convalesce when i needed to heal. beat him pretty easily. the best time is when he goes into that guard thing, it's the best time to heal and debuff him.

Also, every time I see Snow, he reminds me of that stupid Informer song, so I hope he dies a horrific death very soon.

ok so who should i use then? i was told to use lightning, fang and hope and still cant beat him. Twice now Ive gotten his life bar completely emptied (but of course still needs another hit or two) but after the stagger attacks, he does the air attack to me and im done.

Thinking about this, RPG's in general require a bit of thinking and strategy. If mindless fun is all you're looking for, most RPG's wouldn't be the way to go, even if FF13 is more basic and "dumbed" down a bit.

My friend pointed this out to me, but you guys are shifting paradigms between attacks, right? I didn't realize but if you shift before your attack ends, your action bar remains full and you can pull off another set of moves right afterwards.

Re: FFXIII Thread of chocobo ranching

finally got to the "open" area of the game. holy crap. don't go too far off the beaten path. you'll encounter enemies that'll pretty much kill you with one hit.

Re: FFXIII Thread of chocobo ranching

So I finally got to the point where there are more people in your party than can participate in combat. Is there any way I can switch around who is in my combat team or am I stuck with what the game gives me?

You can change party members in chapter 9.

Re: FFXIII Thread of chocobo ranching

A couple more questions:

1. The score you get after combat based on how quickly you win the battle -- does that actually do anything? What about the stars? Is there a difference between 5-starring a fight and getting a score of 18,000 and 1-starring it and getting a score of 2,000?

2. Is there any trick to weapon upgrades? Is it nothing more than "add a bunch of random junk to your weapon and hope the multiplier increases so next time you don't have to add as much random junk?"
