If these Sony executives had a dollar for every time they pwn themselves...

As far all these supposedly great PS3 games coming out soon, when I talk about wanting a great PS3 game, I want a game that is exclusive that I have NOT already played on another console or PC. Many of those games listed above are not exclusive, so why bother?

Some of those games mentioned are VERY obscure, so how could you possibly say they will be great? Sure some of these games may turn out somewhat good, but there certainly is no guarantee. I tried looking "6Gun" up on wikipedia and found absolutely nothing. That can not be a good sign if even the almighty wikipedia knows nothing about the game.

Also, why is Alan Wake even on that list? It is owned and published by Microsoft. No way will you see it on the PS3.

Aren't these the ONLY console exclusive though? Pretty weak to me honestly as I have a 360 and will pick up games for that first.

Don't forget about Assassin's Creed that's supposed to be out in April or so. I know it's cross platform but it's another good looking game for those that are PS3 only owners.

I wonder if at some point Sony will not care about the gaming side (or is this where we are) and just push the bluray if thats the main reason people consider buying the machine.

Can they make a profit if people only want to watch movies with it?

Only a matter of time before the Sixaxis is removed and replaced with the remote due to market demand analysis.

And the NBA Street might also be available on 360, I don't keep up too much with sports games. Out of that entire list, I'm only interested in Tekken.

Well, maybe flOw, but that's just a flash game you can already play for free online.

So, we basically have Motorstorm which LOOKS great, but the Jap version is being panned (but the US will have online play) and F1 is ok if you are an Indy fan....i hated the demo though.

Flow and Calling all Cars are PS Arcade titles or whatever they are called. VF5 got GREAT reviews, but that is cross-platform now too. Although, in this day, I find it hard for 3rd party companies to be company exclusive, doesn't make much business sense.

I wouldnt count on any satisfactory online gaming for motorstorm. Sony has a long way to go in that department.

I agree with a number of other folks in saying that those games really don't impress me that much. Take out the ones I've already played and the sports games I have no interest in.......and you have a very small list left. Then from that list take out the ones that I would rather play on the 360 so I can chat with my friends and be connected to a great online service. What I have left is MotorStorm and after hearing how weak it was as a launch title overseas my interest in it is only as a rental.

Yeah, you're right, I might be dead. The only games that I am interested in on the above list are Virtua Fighter 5, NBA Street Homecourt, and maybe Armored Core 4, none of which are exclusives, but some of which I might get for the PS3 just to have something to play on it (I'm a little worried that the Virtua Fighter coming out on 360 a little later will have added features). And I always considered the strength of the PS2 to be the third party titles, especially the Japanese ones that weren't available anywhere else. Maybe I haven't been paying much attention, but I haven't seen many cool 3rd party games announced. At this point, the PS2 release list for this year looks much much better. Maybe they should have done a Nintendo and held GOW2 back for the PS3 just to have something.

Monster Hunter 3? When did Monster Hunter 2 come out? The PSP game was a port, not a sequel.

And out of that list, only 5 of those games have confirmed dates. Some of them, as Capcom recently mentioned about DMC 4, may not come out until 2008. Again, I own a PS3. But the amount of actual PS3 gaming I've done has amounted to about 2 hours total.

That is a better list, but I bet 98% of those won't be out this year.

There is a Monster Hunter 2 that may never come out here, and Monster Hunter 3 is a title for PS3, though there is no announce date yet (and it very well may not come out here either). But like someone else said, none of those are coming anytime soon, and what am I supposed to play in the meantime? I'm already getting paranoid about this corrupt internal PS2 memory card problem...

Yeah, I'm never playing a PS2 game on my PS3 again, unless there's a patch released specifically to address the issue. Why they couldn't have included a frickin' PS1/PS2 memory card slot is still beyond me.

The problem with the games coming out later rather than now is that there is no incentive to buy the console now rather than later. If no good games are coming out for the next half year, why should we buy it now? Why not wait half a year until the games start coming out and there might even be a price drop on the hardware in that time frame.

Regarding that new list, DMC4 and MGS4 have been heavily rumored to both be coming to the 360 as well. With Capcom becoming a major supporter of the 360, I could definitely see the DMC4 rumor coming true.

Mercenaries 2 has never been declared a PS3 exclusive. Very very little is even known about the game other than the fact that it is indeed in development. It is in the same boat that Assassin's Creed used to be. The developers have only mentioned the PS3, so people just assume it is a PS3 exclusive. I would be very surprised if it is a PS3 exclusive since the developer has never been an exclusive developer. The first Mercenaries and both Destroy All Humans were multiconsole so I bet Mercenaries 2 will be also.

Ninja Gaiden Sigma is technically not exclusive either as it is just a port of the old Xbox Ninja Gaiden with a few new features. I think most of want an actual Ninja Gaiden sequel, not a simple port of an old game.
