A PC to run Crysis on maximum settings is going to run you at least $1000. For most people, that extra $600+ over the Xbox360 is simply not worth it when all you get is prettier graphics.

Come on guys, let's not turn this into a console vs pc thread. There are obviously pros and cons to both pcs and consoles. A true gamer games on a pc, xbox 360, ps3, and a wii. That's what I plan to do.

I know hardware is the biggest issue, but that aside, if there is a shred of chance that a Sony gamer can play the big 360 games without getting a 360 wouldn't you think they would stick with Sony and have the best of both worlds? That's my only point. Where's the incentive to take a chance on the 360?
Even starting up the gamercard and achievements on the PC can be seen the same way. Sony fans can still get a GC and achievements while still owning a PS3. Of course it could work the other way and once someone new to Achievements gets into them on the PC, they could easily end up getting hooked and going with the 360. We all know how addictive they are.

This, of course, is all assuming the barrier to entry of both systems, cost, is too high to own both.

The second Xbox 360 revealed: codename Zephyr
Ever wonder why Microsoft hasn't released an HDMI cable for the Xbox 360, or whether the AV port was really capable of digital out? Well, here's your answer: we landed pictures of what appears to be the second Xbox 360 -- the Xbox 360 v2, if you will -- codenamed Zephyr. (The original Xbox 360, if you recall, was codenamed Xenon.) The long rumored about and awaited update to the console won't just feature a new, cooler 65nm processor, it's also finally added an HDMI port for full digital 1080p pleasure, as well as a 120GB drive, just what the doctor ordered. The 120GB drive may or may not come bundled with the kit, we don't yet know, just as we also don't yet know how much a Zephyr 360 is going to run (we imagine it'll go for the same price as currently so they can keep up a little on their expanding margin). But our very kind Xbox insider seemed happy to let us know we'd be able to get them "soon."

Meh, what are you gonna do. If you have one already and you don't have money to buy the new one the old version will still kick ass.
Hey, perhaps if our current units die down the line we'll get this "Zehpyr" as the replacement....yeah right.

wtf would I do with a 120 gig hard drive, really?
I don't have a TV that supports 1080p, so i really don't see the problem, at all. I guess if you JUST got the system, you might be jealous, but given the points I've already mentioned, it seems kinda childish.
Hopefully, it will get people that are sitting on the fence to get the system, based on those improvements

Didn't someone pointed out earlier that the TV shows don't expire?
You know, people keep talking about Marketplace stuff like HD movies and TV shows filling up the Hard Drives. I've always worried about System Updates, Patches, Game Patches, New Content downloads, and other stuff like that taking up space. I mean correct me if I'm wrong but it seems like we're seeing more game patches this generation.

That new model is cool and all (pun intended), but since my TV is only 1080i, with no HDMI, and I have no interest in the bigger HD (don't care to download movies and shows), the only thing about it that tickles me is the cooler running processor, that might lead to less instances of "three rings of death".

I find this a total BS move by MS. Unless somehow they give current users an option to use HDMI....which I doubt.
I don't really care much though, since I have the same TV situation as above.
I wonder how much they will sell it for?

My TV says 1080i and it does have an HDMI port.

I'll try to find the link, but I read an interview with two 360 developers, and they said there were no plans to include an internal HD-DVD drive for now.
They said that MS didn't want its customers to be stuck with a "betamax" machine.

If they could add an HD-DVD drive without increasing the cost of the unit, then sure, why not add it? It's only a bonus and if the format fails it'll still play DVDs. But if they can't add it without jacking up the price, keep it as an optional add-on.
