Way to do your research before buying a game console.

Gears of War is a first party exclusive, so it has as much a chance of coming to the PS3 as Mario or Zelda.

I bought 3 xbox games today b/c of the new backwards compatibility update: Fable, Conkers bad fur day, and Soul Calibur 2.
I'm having trouble with Fable though. I keep getting these loud sound outbursts every few minutes while playing. Is this a known issue? If so, is there a way to stop it?

I get what are probably the same noise bursts while playing Knights of the Old Republic II on the 360. I hear others have no problem with the BC for KOTOR II but for some reason it didn't work out on my 360.

you could try clearing the memory (not losing game saves or erasing the HD of course)
there are 2 strengths of doing this by the way
method 1 = holding down A while you reboot
method 2 = some key combination while you have the HD selected in the memory panel, you'll have to look it up.

I keep wishing that the Midway Arcade games would be included on the BC updates since I own all three for the Xbox. I'm afraid that they never will for fear of cutting into M$ profits from the arcade. That may be good business for them, but it's pretty crappy for the consumer.

NO option 2 does not erase game saves.
Here is how to do it:
"An undocumented feature in the latest Xbox360 dashbaord update has surfaced -- a cache clear. In order to perform this "maintenance" follow the instructions below. (Thanks, Kakarotto)
Go to the system blade and then memory. Press Y on either the HDD or a MU and then press X,X,Left Bumper, Right Bumper, X,X. Once you do this a blade will pop up saying: This will perform maintenance on your Xbox 360 storage devices. Do you want to continue? Pick yes or no. "
I did it when something happend to my xbox during an update. I dont know what I did but something made COD3 not load (after an update) I figured the update corrupted something--even after deleting my gamesave it wouldnt work. And i couldnt get it to downlad the update again because it thought it already had the latest updates, SO I did the option 2 above and it was right as rain (after re-downloading the update).

Will Method 2 make me redownload the latest system update? I ask b/c I'm also having trouble with USB devices being recognized and I think that I need to redownload the latest system update.
I called Xbox support and they said there is no way to redownload an update and that I need to send in my console...

yep. I think it resets the firmware. All updates/addons are reset.
All content like game saves and downloads are left alone though. This seems to only effect the operating system and game specific patches.

Should I download Star Trek: Enterprise on the marketplace? I liked the show when I could see it and the boxsets are STILL too damn expensive. The Marketplace seems cheap but then again, if I buy the boxsets I can watch them anytime. Eventually, I'll have to delete the Marketplace version right?
Whether or not I DL this show I must admit that having whole seasons of tv shows on Marketplace is pretty cool.

Note : This is only true for tv shows, not movies.

Ugh. Xbox support is driving me crazy. I keep asking about trying this option, and no one has any clue what I'm talking about.
