Q: What do Snakes on a Plane, OJ Simpson, and the PS3 all have in common?

A: They all went from "buzz to bust" according to Time Magazine.

If you have a PS2 you can use those component cables on the PS3.

Yeah HDMI to component doesn't seem to make too much sense to me.

You don't have component cables?

Just buy the component cables for the PS2 or PS3 (they're the same thing). You don't need an hdmi to component adapter... the PS3 has a separate connector for component.

Go to any shop... even if it's only branded for the PS2, it'll work on both. Sony ones retail for around 30 bucks, I've heard that they're on clearance at Toys R Us but I haven't found any. You can get cheaper ones (React) for ~25. Don't buy the ones for multiple systems, and you don't need the overpriced Monster or Psyclone ones.

When you're in the market for HDMI cables, however, you'll want to at least check out monoprice.

Fujishig, i went to my local Toys R Us. They had the PS2 component cables on sale Reg $25 on sale for $14. They had a lot about 20. Works like a charm and just finished watching Superman Returns. Looks great. Thanks again Fujishig.

For those of you with the PS3 are you happy with your purchase? I'm on the fence about getting one. I already have a 360 and a Wii plus a PS2 and a PSP. Is the PS3 worth another $500-$600 investment? I played Resistance at a friends house and really enjoyed it but it didn't seem any more graphically impressive than a similar style 360 FPS. BluRay is not a deciding factor but having it would format war proof my setup.

The Blu-Ray remote by Sony? I didn't even know it was out yet, I can't even find it on the Gamestop website.

There might be sales and bundles next year (a la this year's 360 stuff) but there won't be an official Sony price drop until spring 2008. We might see a price drop to $99 for the PS2 next spring, but not the PS3.

Checked my EB Games, sure enough, the have the remote. I think I will pass, though. I hope to get a universal remote, and BT doesn't fit into my plans.

That's good that they put colors on there with labels. So you know that green is green.

Poor color-blind people.
