Does anybody know when will Overstock or Amazon going to have PS3s? No taxes and shippings are pretty good saving (Overstock shipping is not too shabby and from time to time there are shipping coupons or free shippings).

The $100 trade in deal at GS/EB has pushed me to find a 20GB system from them, but the stores I called claim they never received any 20 giggers other than in the original shipment and a couple 2 weeks after that. Does anyone know if this is at all accurate or are they just trying desperately to unload the 60GB systems they've had in the back for ages?

I recall a thread with a few names in it and I agree that the small amount of names does not warrant a dedicated thread. I just wish we could have a single thread for all names on all systems. It's nice to check out the Wii code thread or the thread for Gamertags but it's really going to be a pain in the ass later on to have people search the PS3 thread for that smaller list of IDs.

Lopper, the $100 deal is if you trade in a working PS2, 2 Sony brand controllers, AV cables, Power cable, and an 8MB memory card, you get $100 off a PS3 (you need to print out and bring in this flyer: http://www.gamestop.com/gs/weeklyad/...i_011207-1.pdf ).

I did the exact same thing. Turns out that stores inside malls get more 20Gbs than the stand-alone stores, which never get 20GBs in. Call some mall stores -- all the mall stores near me had them in.

Good luck!

I went nuts looking for a way to put a space in the ID so I'm thrilled to see the updated name.

I find that hard to believe as your ID is: The Critic... How the heck did you put a space in your ID then

I'm sure this has been answered already but I don't feel like going through to find it. Does the background of of the PS3 menu change monthly like the PSP? Is there any way to change the background to one of your own pictures uploaded to the HD?

Sensationalist drivel.

It sounds like Sony only demoed 1 PS3 game at that particular show and the author of the piece assumed that was their entire 2007 lineup. EA has plenty of titles headed to the PS3 in 2007: Def Jam Icon, Medal of Honor Airborne, NBA Street, Godfather, Army of Two, Burnout 5, etc. and that doesn't even touch their main Sports franchises.

And what Xbox 360 owner is excited for the release of NBA Street: Homecourt?

Woohoo! I got it all set up. However, I of course have a question. The ONLY way I can get 5.1 sound from the ps3 is to use optical or HDMI? If I hook it up using component, I'll just get regular stereo? UGH. It was really easy to set up though and I can't wait to play it. :-)

Correct. 5.1 signals will only pass through either HDMI or Optical. You can use component video and then also hook up the Optical to your receiver if it has an input for it.

Thanks for confirming this. I was going this route but just wanted to make sure first. :-)
