Oh i have no doubt that Portal will have me pulling my hair out.
That is why Team Fortress 2 will take up most of my time. Providing it isn't abandoned at the rate it seems most 360 games are.

Well, got my first real game for the 360 yesterday (Burger King games don't count). Test Drive Unlimited. I gotta say, I'm really impressed. Graphics are nice, but the fact that they pretty much have the entire island of Oahu on there is amazing. I grew up there and to drive around like that is unbelievable. They don't have all the residential streets, of course and it's a bummer that the main streets aren't named in the game, but the fact that I can pretty well navigate anywhere I want to go is most impressive indeed. I also like the MMO aspect to the game, everyone driving around all at once is a cool idea, but all those race sites means it's near impossible to find an online race by driving around. Still, what a cool evolution in the otherwise stale racing genre. I have no idea why it came out at a budget price, it's a much more complete racer than any I've played in a long while (at least based on my few hours of gameplay so far).

Fall update class action suit against MS?
Link to Article
In a recent Xbox.com forum post -- noticed by TeamXbox -- an Xbox 360 owner from California claims to have filed a class action suit against Microsoft for damage caused to his 360 by the fall update. The plaintiff, Gamertag REDRUM6622, has leveled three accusations at Microsoft: breach of contract, violation of the Washington Consumer Protection Act, and negligence. Granted, a forum post is not official confirmation that such a suit actually exists, but the language is very detailed. Frankly, we wonder why the claims are so specific. After all, 360s have been breaking down since long before the fall update.

Oh, and check this out: http://www.smartmoney.com/news/PR/in...07-000880-0858
NEW YORK, Dec. 7 /PRNewswire/ -- Score one for the "little guy." Microsoft's Xbox 360, which currently owns less than a 20% share of the mega- billion dollar Video Game Console market, delivered a smashing upset of Sony's PlayStation3 in H3TV's head-to-head "Fight Night" battle at the Apollo. The PlayStation brand currently dominates the market with over 60% of the consoles in use.
H3 Enterprises, Inc. (OTC Pink Sheets: HTRE) reported this morning that in a totally unbiased side-by-side face-off on H3TV, witnessed by cameras from CNBC and BET as well as a slew of magazine and newspaper reporters, Xbox 360 administered a convincing beat-down to it's highly sought after rival, PS3.
As a result of H3TV's split screen cyber technology, the overflow crowd was able to witness the two rival gaming consoles being played on the same 1080p monitor at the same time. Utilizing EA Sports' "Fight Night" on both consoles, H3TV was able to give the enthusiastic audience was given a clear view of the head-to-head imagery and graphics of the competing systems.
Many of Harlem's top rappers and "Fight Night" aficionados were given the opportunity to participate and experience the varied features that both consoles offer. The final results were unanimous and resounding.
"Xbox is flat-out better both visually and mechanically," said H3's chief communications officer and world class gamer, Adrian "Hollywood" Walton. "When 'Fight Night' is played at its highest level with the highest possible resolution, everyone was able to see Xbox 360's superiority to PS3 as clear as can be on H3TV."
Dipset and H3 superstar Juelz Santana was just as emphatic in his breakdown of the "Fight Night" face-off: "H3TV completely exposed that PS3's High Definition picture doesn't come close to Xbox, at least for "Fight Night." Everyone that had the opportunity to compete on both consoles scored Xbox higher right across the board."
HTRE will feature a second round of H3TV's "Video Console Challenge" at Friday's Spike TV "Video Game Awards," December 8th. Present plans call for EA Sports top selling "Madden NFL 07" to be played simultaneously on H3TV by the brightest stars and best gamers in the world. There will also be a basketball shootout utilizing EA Sports "NBA Live 2007" and 2KSports "NBA 2K7." H3's "Backstage Booth" will be hosted by Walton and other Dipset stars.

Here's more Lost Planet news.... direct from the PR person:

So last week we shared Famitsu Xbox 360 Magazine’s great single player review of Lost Planet with you. Well, Weekly Famitsu (yes, the one we all know and love, the same one that is notorious for their harsh scoring) has also just finished their complete reviews for Lost Planet (both multi and single player) and the results are awesome! All four reviewers awarded the game a 9 out of 10, with an overall score of 36. (For reference, they scored Dead Rising a 35!)
Here’s the translation of their reviews!
1) Cool that it feels like a big-budget sci-fi movie. You'll need to keep collecting Thermal Energy to stay alive, so you'll have to stay in the action at all times. If you find the game too hard, swallow your pride and play it on Easy mode. Playing against players from around the world looks like fun. SCORE = 9
2) Plays pretty much like an orthodox FPS game. The game balance lets you play through the game without much stress. Very inventive in that you have your human weapons and Vital Suit weapons, and you can use them all on foot. The slower movements of the hefty Vital Suits balance out their overwhelming firepower and add to the tension. SCORE = 9
3) From the realism of the snow and air in the environments to the battles that really put you in the middle of the action, this game has it all. Battles against giant enemies and robots are super-exciting. May take some people a little time to get used to the unique controls and gameplay concepts. Story plays out well, with twists and turns throughout the experience. Online multiplayer seems a bit bland, but it's fun to play nonetheless. SCORE = 9
4) Despite the weapon balancing being fine-tuned with the multiplayer in mind, the story mode truly is a blast! Battles with creatures in the extreme conditions are intense and very challenging. The bosses are big, and the pattern-recognition style of boss-conquering is very rewarding. SCORE = 9

I don't know if this has been mentioned before, but I found this scan over at SD. $100 GC with the purchase of a Premium 360 system for the week of 12/17-12/24. BTW, "upgradeable 20GB hard drive"? Has a higher capacity one been announced or is that just a theoretical?

i have the special edition of Lost Planet pre-ordered. I would expect the 1p mode to own gears, but I really can't see the multiplayer standing up to Gears. Sure, I would love to be wrong, but I don't think it will pan out like that

Good few months for 360 games, what with Gears of War (Which unlike a lot of people it seems, I flat out love), Rainbow Six: Vegas, Sneak King, and Lost Planet.

I have yet to try out my sneak king, but I absolutely LOVE Gears of War. I do notice people getting extremely aggrevated when they die, which follows with excuses, or insults directed at the game. If I allow myself to even get close to that level, I just turn the damn thing off
I do want to try out rainbow 6 in a month or so. I've just been overwhelmed with too many games at once

Also, is anyone playing RoboBlitz? I know it's 1200 points but with the True.com and BB offers I figure someone else would get it. I'm the only one who has it.

It's like an FPS platformer mix and is by far the prettiest XBLA game I've ever seen. Don't know how much replay there will be once I get (if I get) all the achievements, but it's fun. A nice break from heavier/harder games.

There is a new video of Mass Effect up on Gametrailers.com as well as the GRAW 2 teaser trailer.
The Mass Effect video gave me a hard-on. That game is looking awesome.
The GRAW 2 teaser was pointless; it was 5 seconds long and showed absolutely nothing.

I'm waiting until I can get them for 50 cents used.
But then again knowing Gamestop, GameRush, and others....they'll charge $54 for the used Bk games.

OK, this has been driving me nuts : I have a Harmony universal remote. I have it programmed to work with the 360 as an activity. There's no problem with turning the unit on when I pick Play 360 as my activity, but when I turn it off, the console stays on most times. What's even more annoying is that when I power the unit off with the controller and then hit the power button or select another acivity with the remote, the unit comes back on! Am I doing something wrong here or does the console just not like to be turned off?

GoW and Lost Planet that is....
