Are you playing online co-op Giantrobo? I haven't made it that far yet (i'm in act 4 i think) but co-op is many many times easier than relying on the stupid AI to back you up. It also lets someone revive you instead of one time dying having to restart.

This is the way I beat Raam and it only took me a couple tries:

Spoiler:
Hide behind the barricade thing that you start at after the cutscene.

First, wait until the kryll fly away from Raam. When the kryll surround him, they create a shield that makes him invincible. He can only be hurt when the kryll are gone.

Once the kryll fly away, pop up from behind the barricade and shoot him with the sniper rifle. Headshots and perfect active reloads will increase damage, but they are not completely necessary. When the kryll return to him, just keep hiding behind the barricade.

When Raam gets within 10 feet or so of where you are hiding, switch to the assault rifle and just blind fire. When Raam starts to come around the barricade, quickly mantle over the barricade and roadie run way down to the similar looking barricade that is also brightly lit. If you stay towards the middle of the train while roadie running, you shouldn't have too much trouble with the kryll since the middle has a few lighted areas.

Once you get to this new barricade, just rinse and repeat the strategies with the sniper rifle and the assault rifle once Raam gets close to your position again. When Raam gets close to you again, do the roadie run back to the original barricade and do it again. It took me maybe 6-8 sniper shots and 3-4 clips from the assault rifle to kill Raam.

Yeah the torque bow and grenades both make the kryll fly away. Personally though, I just wait for the kryll to fly away on their own as I hate the grenades in GoW and would rather keep the sniper and assault rifles than switch one for the torque bow. The kryll fly away frequently on their own so it isn't a problem.

yea, thats what I did on casual, but I skipped hardcore and went straight to insane. hopefully he isn't TOO ridiculous on that difficulty. I beat that giant spider without any problems. I think it took 2 tries

Has anyone else had trouble getting into ranked matches? My connection times out every time. I can get into player matches with no problem though.

yea, i usually have to refresh like 5 times before i can get a game.

what has helped is trying to find a room further down on the list. I rationalized it as like 20 people trying to find the same game I do, and them just being quicker on the draw

I haven't been able to get into a Ranked match yet. I saw over at joystiq that Epic was suppose to be releasing a patch to address the connectivity problems. Hopefully it will be soon.

There was. There was also one outside while you are fighting him.

Thanks. Like I said, I am more or less doing that so I guess I'll have to try again...and again...and again. I guess I suck that much.

I'm also aware of the Bow and Grenades scaring the kryll away.

Like I said, I swear I tried what felt like a couple of hundred times, and I never did beat him by myself, even on casual.

The assault rifles are really unique. The design is ornate. I don't know if I have enough coordination to use the bow as of yet but I love the graphics in the game. I wish I had that much talent to deisgn something of that caliber. Pretty cool.

A friend adn I are doing this co op, this game is absolutely perfect.

We went thru on Casual once, he got the Dom achievments. Now he's hosting on hardcore soI can get the Dom achievements. We're going to go back thru on hardcore again to pick up all the tags we missed on the way thru the game the last 2 times(we are missing about 7 each).

RAAM wasn't that big of a deal if you use the sniper/bow technique, and/or the troika at the end of the train.

RAAM was pretty easy in casual going at it solo. At first I tried that sniper/torque thing and I just couldn't do it. Then I used the orange machine gun thing (i forget the name)/torque gun and took him down in no time. I need to do this game co-op!

It is called a troika (not sure on spelling). How do you use the troika against RAAM though? There are no lights around it so you are left wide open to the kryll.

Man, you guys must have all kinds of luck or skill on your side. I've used every possible combo of available weapon on that last level AND I even tried the Troika. All this while I concentrating all fire on his head and face when the kryll fly away and he just won't go down.

I don't get this at all.

There's light at the bottom of the ramp. I think you have to do it in short bursts or until you see kryll coming back then retreat to that light. But what do i know...
