Hey MatrixRox What does the BB in your tag stand for. I know the sak and crocop part but the BB?
Rarely does a game live up to the hype and this one has. I played for 5 hours straight the day I got it and rarely do I even play for more than hour on any game now a days.

Luckily, the core gameplay is radically different and oddly fun, so it's worth it.

I'm dying here! I want this one bad but the only two places within 300 miles with this game in is Walmart and they only have the collectors which I am not willing to pay the extra for. So now I have to decide between waiting and getting COD3. Ugh, I hate months like this. Now I have to go up my gamerscore with Open Season.

Is anyone else not able to play Versus mode? Everytime I try to connect to a game I get the "Connection Lost" message. I can play COOP fine and I don't have this problem with other games.

Anybody's machine freeze on this game?
I can play Halo 2 on the 360 for hours with no freezes or anything (though sometimes I get a failure to load multi player map), but when I am playing this game, my xbox freezes and runs very loud.
I'm not getting the red lights or anything, and this is the only game I have had the freezing issue with, but I have rarely been playing anything but Halo 2

From: Im somewhere where I dont know where I am.
OP posting here -
Ok, I broke down and headed to my local gamestop and picked this up today. I spent about 2 hours on the single player, here are my initial impressions , both the good and the bad.
GRAPHICS: The graphics are stunning. absolutely stunning. If you have a nice TV, then you are in for a real treat. ( i have a Sony SXRD 50" XBR1) and believe it looks insane on my TV. Sharp, detailed, and just chock full of beautiful jaw dropping atmosphere and detail. The detail on the armor in paticular is very nice - I think this is the highlight of the game, no detail went unspared, it is finely crafted, and a true showcase of the xbox360's raw power. 9.5 on graphics
GAMEPLAY: The gameplay is great, but one thing im starting to notice is a lot of repetition. Explore. Emergence hole. Shoot the locusts. Gather Ammo. Repeat. I am concerned about the entire game being more or less the same thing over and over, but i will have to hold off on my opinion until i finish the single player campaign. The action is fast paced, frantic, and stressful. You cant run around like an idiot running and gunning, if you arent behind a big pillar, or a concrete block - your a deadman. ( coincidentally the game is littered with conveniantly placed concrete blocks and walls )
This game is VERY difficult if your not that great with precision gameplay or aiming, or playing under the stress of being shot at. I am playing it on casual , and am finding it to be fairly challenging. I cant imagine playing it on hardcore- The controls are pretty standard, but its a about a 30 minute learning curve to get you up to speed.
To me, gameplay = replay value. How many times do i come back again to play a game? do i play it over 2 days, and then never touch it again ? So, that remains to be seen i guess. . . 8.0 on gameplay
VARIETY: So far, 2-3 hours in, it is somewhat lacking in variety of enemy type and atmosphere. Its been a lot of the same thing, but dont get me wrong - its AWESOME. I just hope that theyre are many other interesting environments. I cant wait to see the night mission, i hear its really good. 7.0
ATMOSPHERE: Wow, wow, and - wow. The city buildings are just . . .. breathtaking. Thats why its taking me so long to get to the 2nd level is because i spent a lot of time just admiring the beautiful and stunning architecture in the city. Its like taking a surreal tour through a ruined "semi futuristic" roman-eque city, while monsters relentlessly try to kill you. They masterfully created an atmosphere of a very creepy apocalyptic deserted city - it just looks otherworldy, and so believeable. The game would be great even if there was nothing to shoot at, just to wander around the deserted cities would be enough to make my jaw drop down. 11 out of 10
SOUND: The sound is pretty average in my opinion. It doesnt have the same wow factor that the graphics. The sound is satisfactoy, and gets the job done I guess. . 8.0
Overall: Still playing, love it so far. Is it the greatest game ever made? dont know about that. I think the game pages online went a little wild with the reviews, giving it 9.5-9.8 , etc.. Its awesome, but definately not perfect. Overall id have to say 8.8
This is a VERY exciting time for XBOX360 owners because NOW we are seeing the true power the 360, and hopefully this is an indication of the gaming goodness that is to come in the years ahead. But make no mistake, graphically - the bar has been re-set. Any game maker out there has their work cut out for them if they want to equal this-
Ok gents, play on-

But for some reason, everyone thinks this is the messiah of computer games and that its going to turn the xbox world upside down.
My bet is that this is the one game that MS decided to pour all its big time ad money into, and people are buying into the hype hook, line and sinker.
Personally i think COD3 graphics look better than GOW.

Question - I prefer GRAW to Halo, especially co-op online - Is this a game for me?

I think I'm the only one on the planet who isn't going crazy over this game. The singleplayer just seems 'meh'...and the multiplayer, while fun, isn't the greatest thing I've ever played or anything. I like it, but I've already stopped playing to play other games, and don't see it holding my interest for months on end.

My thing is the game reminds me of older NES/Arcade games that you can pick up and blast through, just longer and better looking.
The co-op is so well implemented that it just adds that much more to it.

Pretty cool game. I am playing on casual and it is extremely challenging for me since i am not gifted with the ability to play FPS's on a console very well. The graphics are beyond rediculous.

I picked it up this evening. Played a few rounds of multiplayer and hated it. Started the prison break level single player and haven't been impressed with the game itself yet - graphics are beautiful though. I will probably try to play it on casual to see the story. Maybe try to get the Nuge achievement and then sell the thing off. So in a bit i will have a collectors edition up for sale most likely.

A friend of mine said he already ran into some "cheating" boosters in ranked matches. Apparently if you and your friends are a similar ranking they can join your match in ranked mode, giving that team(who obviously coordinate well together, vs. playing with strangers) quite an unfair advantage.
He said he joined the match and ended up on their team and they were all screaming at him to leave or join the other team because they were waiting on another friend.
The lengths people go to-to boost their level. Geez.

Multiplayer was pretty fun tonight. I'm not too good at it right now, but this was my first day playing the game. I still have to figure out what all the buttons do and how certain guns work. I haven't even tried the single player yet. But so far I like it. I just wish there could be more than 8 people in a game. That kind of sucks.
