Right now, I'm playing Castlevania: PoR. It took me awhile to get used to the co-op play with Jonathan and Charlotte but I'm liking it so far.

I finished Yoshi's Island DS last night, at least just with the straight run through.
I'd give it a 7.0 out of 10.
It's a good game, but it's flaws keep it from approaching the greatness of it's predecessor. First, the game is just missing that magic as the level design is pretty bland, straight forward and repetitive as you go on. It's missing creative stuff like touch fuzzy, get dizzy, doesn't make much use of the Yoshi vehicle's (or the different characters really), and is lacking the more puzzle like levels that require a lot of exploration (with only a couple of exceptions).
Second, much of the challenge comes from bad game design, with deaths due to the dead spot in between screens (why not just have them "connect"?) or having to make blind jumps when you can't get the screen to scroll down or right so you can see where you need to leap.
I finished the 40 levels, and will play the 5 beating it unlocked, but I doubt I'll do much with trying to get 100% in the levels as I don't really like looking for all that stuff and didn't really enjoy the game enough to put in that effort. Nor do I have the patience to try that in the latter levels like 5-7 where I died over 30 times do to the cheap issues mentioned above. Have a back log of better games to get through as well.
It's a decent game, and worthy of a purchase for platformer fans. But don't go in expecting it to live up to the original which is a classic and maybe still the best the genre has to offer.

I picked up Metroid Pinball at TRU for $10 today. It's a pretty neat little game, although the rumble feature feels more like a "BZZZTTT" than a "RUMBLE".

Moved on to Castlevania Portrait of Ruin and put in about an hour. Finished the first painting and the boss in the castle right after that and saved and quit.
Loving it so far. Definitely a bit harder, took me a good 7 or 8 tries to beat the boss in the first painting.
Game looks and sounds nice, probably a bit better than Dawn of Sorrow.

I couldn't find Clubhouse Games anywhere during Christmas. I may have to buy it once the holidays are over and they restock the game again.

Here's a new trailer for FFCC:ROF: http://www.square-enix.co.jp/ffcc/movie/
It looks awesome... Almost too awesome. For some reason I was really expecting settings similar to FFIII, but it looks completely different.
I wonder if the DS can really handle those graphics with so many things going on. When I play FFIII and I'm in a battle with three enemies, I get lags. The stuff in this trailer looks far more complex than that.

I'm loving Castlevania as usual. The two character system and the exotic locales in the paintings have freshened the game up quite a bit and kept it from feeling as stale as the last couple of games.
The bosses are a bit harder than the past few games, but as others said, it's largely just figuring out the proper strategy. Took me a good 20 tries to beat the boss in the 2nd painting, but once I figured out how to avoid her temptation spell I beat her in like 20 seconds.

hey guys... i was just wondering how everyone stores their actual games? i have a DS Lite case and there is a zippered pocket that ive just put all my games in (i have 9 games). Is there any chance of damage having the games stuffed in a pocket like that? or should i get a seperate case designed to hold DS games? and if so, which one?
any help is appreciated.

Hello,
I didnt want to scroll all 20 pages. So I just thought I would ask here. Got a DS Lite yesterday. Need some ideas on what are the best games right now. The better half likes puzzle/animal crossing/sims type games. She also likes traditional stuff like super mario bros.
I like those as well, but I truly love RPGS, what is the best RPG game to get for the DS?
Thanks for all the help!

Clubhouse Games (card games, board games... um, fun games)*
Castlevania: Portrait of Ruin (adventure game)
Final Fantasy III (rpg)*
Magical Starsign (rpg)
Older games that haven't been mentioned in awhile:
Animal Crossing: Wild World (sim)*
New Super Mario Bros (traditional Mario platformer)*
Yoshi's Island 2 (traditional Yoshi platformer)
Cooking Mama (weird little puzzle-like game)*
Rocket Slime (rpg/puzzle game)
I can vouch for the one's with the *.
