Contacted a GM and he basically said there is nothing he can do this is a billing issue. They aren't open til tomorrow. He wouldn't block the account either. If anyone is curious, the server again is Alexstrasza and Beerdrink and Sixfeetunder are the names. Create an alt on the server and let me know if you see me (them) there.

I guess the only reason I can think of for not deleting a couple of 70's is to either transfer the account or to sell the account.

No sale, still can't login.

So I login on the wifes account, I check her friends list. Both my level 70's are listed as friends, but 3 of my other alts are gone. I try to add them as friends, and get "player not found". We're talking a 38 Mage, 35 Priest, and a 34 Lock. Nothing big. Why someone would delete them is behind me. My main had over 3k gold on him, not even sure if it's still there as I can't login.

The weird thing is my guild screen shows my main online 23 hours ago, and as I said before, the last time I played was 4 days. I never give my login or password out to anyone so the "maybe it was a friend" won't fly. My wife was with me the whole time and she hasn't logged on either.

To make matters worse, I can't remember my secret question, so I am screwed.

EDIT:

I just checked the Armory, and all my gear on my main is gone. Whoever messed with my account put the Aregent Dawn commission on me, the Insignia of the Horde (both were in the bank) and the ghost glasses from that Shadow Moon Valley quest.

Yeah same with my alt, also 70. Only thing she is wearing is the AD commission.

And my 47 Pally, stripped naked.

I guess this confirms I have been hacked.

Why would someone take the time to delete the lower level alts altogether, but leave the 70 mains alone?
call the blizzard 800 # and let them know whats going on and you want your stuff back, it will take awhile but they do come through.

i'd also check your machine for virus/keylogger/etc you may have downloaded a bad mod or something. no point in having blizzard fix your stuff if your computer is still "dirty".

i added both of yours to my account there i've got an undead warlock i made but never played named Rob on that server, spent about an hour playing him and didn't see "you" show up.

Thanks, Bean. I am scanning for threats now. I heard the mods may be infected argument on the WoW boards, too, so I am looking into that. Apparently INC had some infected mods recently and I get 99.999% of my mods there.

I am calling Blizzard tomorrow after work to see if I can get the ball rolling on this. I wish I'd remembered my security question. I never thought I'd need to answer it.

a lot of the time your scanner may not see a WoW mod as a threat, but some virus scanners can pick up on that. if i were you i'd either un-install WoW or run the blizzard WoW fix it tool that will wipe everything out of the mod folder and clear the cache etc. and if any of your mods are in .exe and not .zip don't use em there shouldn't be any .exe in the mod at all even if its a group like CT raid or anything else no .exe they're all .zip that you put in your folder.

and if nothing else helps you since you play horde you'll understand this dial 888-CNO-RRIS

just FYI incase you didn't know, but since you're on an older server you probably already knew all that

I finally got my password changed. Logged onto my main and sure enough, all gold gone, all items gone. Left me with 70 copper. Stole 3008 gold from me. I checked my alt, and it turns out he took her to stv.

She was standing naked outside the neutral AH in Booty Bay when I logged on. Had some mail saying I won an auction for Tough Jerky. I paid 3008 gold for it, sold by someone named Xeongame. So he created an Alliance character, put the jerky up for 3k, and bought it with my money. I searched for Xeongame, of course no character exists in the armory.

The email I got from Blizzard said that my request for restoration was sent to an account specialist for review and it may take two weeks.

This is bs.

Yea, you should get everything back except your enchants. I have heard of some not getting their gold back, but only a couple times and not exactly sure why that was.

Anyone know when patch 2.3 is releasing? I know it's on the PTR right now, but I haven't heard anything since that happened.

I've got a low 30's Undead Priest I'm going to finally level up, and I figure there's no point in doing it until the patch, since it will go much faster.

The only ones who know when it is going to be released are those who work at Blizz. And even then they are wrong more then half the time due to changes that are always being made to correct mistakes and make updates to things.

Right now I have a druid, priest, and hunter all sitting at lvl 31 just waiting for 2.3 to drop on us. What I do now is just play the one who has max rested xp for the night for a hour or so to use up the rested xp and then drop them back in the inn till they hit max rested again.

I also started the project of my pocket healer who is getting lvl'd by just dragging him through instances. He has yet to do a single quest, and if all goes well I can keep it that way till ~63. Oh, the things one can do when they have more then one account and get bored.

2.3 still has some bugs so maybe sometime next month tword the middle of the month. the patch we're playing on at least the big one was on PTR for about a month, the headless horseman part was up for PTR for about a week. next patch will be a big one some things are really cool the whole new marsh is awesome and going to be great for mid 30s to your 40s. anyway difference in xp is a bit you can see from the screen shots.

two screen shots of a lvl 34 pally that i don't play that much, something about being an elf and horde is just weird to me. fun class to play anyhow.

live

Thanks guys.

I forgot I never picked a profession for the priest so I might as well spend some time doing that. I think I may go for tailoring - not sure what gathering I want to do.

I've done the mining/smithing thing before, and I've done herbalism/alchemy.

Maybe I'll do skinning/tailoring.

What do you mean except my enchants? You mean the ones I learned (as in will have to go and buy/farm drops again?) or the ones I did on my gear? I can handle chanting my gear again, that's not a problem.

I have a feeling the gold is going to be not given back. I was more then halfway to an epic mount, too.

I deleted all my mods and ran the repair utility just to be safe.

I am quite confused about this hacker and why he did some things. If anyone can answer these questions, please do.

1. Why leave the 70's and the 47 alone and delete a 38, 35, and 34?

2. Why did he delete them anyway? To be a bigger ass or was there a motive?

3. Why did he take my fish scales and fish oil (I use them for water breathing and walking) yet leave some Illusion dust and Arcane dust in the bank? There was a whole stack of Arcane and about 6 Illusion. That's another 40g right there.

4. Why did he cast spells and get on my mount? What's the point?

5. I had Netherweave bags on Beerdrink, which are BOE. Why delete those? Again, to just be an ass?

6. Why did he not delete the Insignia of the Horde and the AD Commision? He also didn't delete the huge stockpile of PVP marks and tokens I have in the bank.

7. Why leave 70 copper, why not take it all?

Just to be a complete ass basically. Not only did he take everything from you, but he mocked you by leaving you 70 copper. Complete ass.

I'm thinking about starting up another alt, but I'm going to go with 2 gathering professions until I hit 60 or 70.

I think mining/herbing would be the biggest money maker. The problem is you can't track both of those at once. If you have a big guild who are all using the network sharing feature of Gatherer, then you will have pretty much all the mining/herb nodes already marked on your map, so it won't be too bad.

Just the enchants on your gear. Unless he unlearned your profs your good to go on that topic. Now, if he unlearned your profs, well... everything that I have read to date pretty much says your screwed and you have to start all over with them.

I think that is why Blizz put in the idea of needing a certain lvl enchanting to be able to DE certain things. Before if your account was hacked they would drop one of your professions and learn enchanting and DE all your gear, that way they got the mats. Now they can no longer do that as it requires enchanting level of 300 to DE lvl 70 epics.

You might find that some were deleted and one or two created. That way the hackers could send all the stuff to 1 person, and then have that one toon mail everything out. While it seems like it would take longer to do it this way, it does make it easier for them to do as they are not mass mailing to the account that they are sending all your stuff to. Easier to go through all that mail when it comes from one toon on an account then six.

Can you vendor enchanting mats? If not I can see why they might have left those in the bank. Yea, you can send those out to your holder (the account that is receiving all the stuff from the hacked account) but it is a lot harder to track just gold then it is to track items.

Cast spells? No idea... but mounted to travel faster between places. I wonder if he tried to use the accout to bot for abit. Who is to say.

Prob. Didn't delete the bags, but sold them to vendor. If it can be sold to the vendor, no matter how small the amount, they vendor it.

The small amount of copper left is due to the amount needed to mail items. They cut it as close as possible to get as much as possible. And if your doing this all the time why waste the time trying to figure out the exact amount needed to mail it all out.

Just my ideas on it all.

I checked my professions as soon as I logged on. I was relieved to see them still there as I was 375 mining and 362 chanting.

The vendoing items clears up alot. I am now assuming he just sold all the gear. Probably got a good 50g from selling it, so easier then getting mats together and auctioning them.

I am still waiting on Blizzard to fix this. I wonder if I should call them? The GM said they are working on it, and to sit back and be patient.

I'm pretty sure they just did it so that people like myself didn't just take the profession JUST to de stuff. They wanted people to get more out of the professions. My rogue had enchanting just so i could make more money off my greens.. no other reason

just ask them really really nice if you can have season 2 arena gear/weapons or some T5 or T6.

just remember it could be worse, you could have been like me and started your main on an RP server thinking wow RP cool it will be like when we played D&D in highschool and then ended up finding out 99% of the people are just emo elitest.

at any rate i hope all your stuff gets back to normal having someone screw with your wow account is just as bad as someone messing with your porn collection or xbox 360 or something it just isn't cool, its even worse than someone taking your last smoke and not telling you.

If they offered an epic flying mount, I'd say "what gold?"

My account was hacked last December, and it took until early February to get any of my gear back and I never got the gold back. Of course they seemed to be putting off giving people stuff back at that point, instead just telling people that they will replace everything when TBC came out. When I did finally get my gear back I did have the enchants on them though.

Ever since my account was hacked I have been copying and pasting my password into WoW rather than typing it. That way if I ever get a keylogger again my password will appear to be ctrl+V to the hackers...
