I was out of the country when EB did their pre-order thing, so I completely missed out on that. Since I don't have a pre-order in and need it on the 19th, I'm just planning on waiting in line at Meijer's at Saturday midnight.

Is this pretty much what everyone that doesn't have a pre-order in is planning on doing? Just waiting in line at a store for a long time?

Hey Bus-

Which store did you end up getting the PRE-ORDER?

The Gamestop on Naamans Road had a big line, but I am told they got a big alotment of Wii pre-order spots there so it worked out.

I actually ended up going to FuncoLand on 202.

I don't suppose there is any way to get in on a pre-order at this point, is there?

I recommend looking around for small game stores. I went to one the other day, when I was disappointedly leaving TRU because of the long lines for PS3 preorders, and I asked if they took any. They didn't for the PS3, but they did for the Wii. And they had expected to get in around 80 (in comparison, the TRU next door said they were getting in around 20). I preordered with a $5 deposit, and was one of the only few on the list.

Some folks over at CAG are claiming TRU will do some more preordering next Sunday based on their newspaper ad.

I guess my first option for getting a Wii is to try the 24 hour Walmart. Hopefully, getting in line at 9 or 10 pm will be good enough. If not, Target opens at 8am. Then Best Buy opens at 10am. I wonder if Sears will get any.

If you go anywhere and wait in line for a Nintendo, make sure you bring your DS.

You sound just like me last year when I wanted to get my hands on a 360. My 24 hour Wal Mart got in about 20 360s and the line started at 5:00 am the day before the release. People we're lined up all day in the electronics section to get their hands on one. I went up at 4:00 pm, thinking I'd be in the first part of the line, and I wasn't even close. I then thought about Sears ... big mistake. I went over there at 5:00 am the next morning and was #10 in line. We waited until they opened at 7:00 and the manager said they thought they were getting some in with their daily shipment at 10:00. We waited. He was wrong.

Search engine that will tell you how many Wiis that your Target is getting. Info might or might not be accurate, but a number of people who claim to work at Target say the numbers are right.

If you want to search for your whole state and live in a state where the abbreviation will be found in other words, put a space before and after the abbreviation (such as " OR " for Oregon, minus the quotes).

since we live within 15min. of these and my wife works across the street from the Canton location I should hopefully not have to much trouble finding one.

My Toys R Us only took 15 preorders. Isnt it likely that they will be getting quite a few more than 15, since Target is getting so many?

I got it at the Governon's Square on on 40 & 1. My friend used to assistant manage that one but I guess he's moved on. It's the one Gamestop near Newark where the employees don't act like total dicks.

BTW the 202 Target is getting 210 Wiis. (see prev post)

Your friend's initials aren't JM are they?

Hey, another deal for everyone... LISTEN UP-

I am told if you go to TARGET and buy 3 Wii Games you'll get a $20 gift card (the relaly cool light up one)

The release dates for some of the games are BEFORE 11/19. So if you have some on pre-order you could easily try and get them at Target get first to get the gift card and then cancel your Gamestop pre-orders before launch.

And if you don't succeed you still have your pre-orders at Gamestop/Funco/wherever

Do they have to be different games or can I get 3 Zeldas? I have to pick up extra Wiis for my brothers and If I can get a 3-pack of zelda, get a $20 gc, and sell them to my mom for full value, I'd just do that.
