My wife called Gamestop today. They are not taking pre-orders until they know how many they are going to get. They don't want to repeat the 360 madness they had last year. So, they said to call back every couple of days. I wouldn't think the B&M stores will know how many they are getting until a week or two before the 19th. I'm not sure what they are going to do online but, that might be the better option.

just to reiterate, I called today as well, and got the same thing. Though he did say they are waiting on a conference call for details, but wasn't sure when that would be, and also told me to call back every day or so.

if I can't get one gauranteed at Pre-order, I'll just camp out somewhere. Yes, I'm nerdy enough to do that.

Just to reiterate, they gave me the same story about PS3's as well.

Gamestop near me said they weren't doing any preorders for this or PS3 because of the messy 360 launch. I registered on their web site to receive updates about preordering.

I just called my local EB and they told me that they'll know for sure by this coming Monday what they are going to do about pre-orders.

Not to threadcrap, but you will probably be able to just to to Wal-Mart or Target and pick it up. Gamecube was not hard to get at all.

Plus a lot of people who get PS3's will probably wait a month or two before getting a Wii if they plan on getting both. Either way I will still preorder given the option.

So these just use standard SD cards? If so, I'll probably end up buying a card now to spread out the $ pain a little bit.

Me too, just because I have $160 in credit at Gamestop.

It comes with 512 MB of internal memory.. even if you SPLURGE massively on VC titles, that's going to be MORE than enough until (or if) they start releasing demos or non-classic-console VC exclusives.

I'll preorder because I just want to be safe.. and it's not like a game where I can go to Fry's and get it cheaper.

I may not preorder because this is going to coincide with my move across the state, and I don't want to have $50 sitting somewhere that I can't readily get to.

As of right now, I'm not going to get mine at launch... I'll wait until the semester is over first and get one with a few controllers, Zelda, and another game or two.

So you guys can have at it! I won't stand in your way.

I'm gonna see if I can get a pre-order for a pre-order...

If they're packaging these things now, but the time they launch, I'm assuming they'll have plenty to go around.

I've had a Wii bundle pre-ordered at Toys 'R Us, for approximately a month and a half, now. I cannot wait for it. I hope the two games are my choice, though.

Wichita, KS - Gamestop and ebGames:
They handed me an e-mail from corporate stating they are still waiting to see what their allotment is before allowing preorders. Was told they expect that monday.

I heard there are going to be a bunch shipped too. But I kind of want mine on Sunday so I can play all day.
