ANY SD card will work. You do not have to buy the Nintendo brand $50 one. Right now you can get a 1GB card for under $10 after rebates at various retailers. You just have to do a little searching to find a deal.

I went to Toys R Us this morning at 7AM, but there were already 50 gazillion people there. Looked like they camped out all night. So it looks like I'm going to have to try Target, Best Buy, or Walmart on release day, unless I see a preorder deal online.

Sucks to wait all night and find out only the first 20 or 30 will even get to preorder a console. The other hundred are going to be pissed.

Hell, there were about 6 people lined up at noon yesterday at the South Tulsa TRU. I knew right then and there I wasn't going to bother. But, I'm sure that Walmart, Target, and Best Buy will hook you up if you hit them in the order they open.

Speaking of, I just stumbled on this rumor.
Alright ladies, i have in my hand the info so apparantly hard to get. one of the leaders in retail, best buy will be a getting AT LEAST this many. After taking an average of diverse locations directly from Best Buy's retail stock system(RSS) the total number units indicated is aprroximately 80-90 units. this ranges from 120 in the more popular stores to just 24 in bufu. not only that, but games such as red steel will be roughly 60 in number, and trauma center 30. these are just PRELIMINARY, that is the very first order for all stores. by november, i will have updated this and it will probably at least double by that time. now, supposedly best buy was supposed have gotten their shipment of Wii today 10/28 or tommorow 10/29, this date was pushed back to the luanch day of 11/19 most likely to stop the overload of employees checking. again, this is tentative inventory that has yet to be recived by ANY stores, but it is the actual information from the inventory orders.

Okay I know sears, target, best buy, circuit city will all have to be standing waiting for the store to open, but what about 24hour walmarts?

And I know this has been asked a hundred times, but if I get up early morning on the 19th do you think there will be enough units? Because the toysrus ps3 line was a day or two ahead.

For the 360 launch, my local 24-hour Wal-Mart sold at midnight. There was a small line of about 8 people near 10, so not too big of rush.

As for others, I guess it depends on where you live on whether you can go early morning. I am going to attempt my local Best Buy. I live in a college town where most of the die-hards have already been looking to pre-order. That's been limited, so I expect there will be others waiting. However, outside the die-hards, the general public, even if interested, does not usually go out early to wait in this town. As a plus, although it is a college town, that is the beginning of Thanksgiving break, which puts many students already out of town.

Really, because when I called my local best buy they said they had people waiting for the 360 a few days early.

Where did you wait at walmart? Outside? In the electronics department?

For the Gamecube 5 years ago, I was at the local wal-mart. I think I got there about 10 or 10:30 and took a number. I was 48 out of like 64 or something. Didn't have to wait in line as long as you had a number. At midnight, we queued up according to our number and went and paid for your console. This was back at the Layaway/Cust Svc desk in the back.

That was Broken Arrow, OK. The demand and wait is going to vary by location, obviously. A place like OK or outer-edge's Iowa isn't going to have the same draw as a Dallas or Chicago, for example. You'd do well to just call ahead a few days early and see what the plans are. But, a 24-hour Walmart should be selling them right at Midnight. If not, you can at least demand they do and you'd still have 8 hours to get to Target or 10 or 11 to get to Best Buy.

Got my pre-order this morning from Toys R Us. I went to the East Brunswick, NJ store and my girlfriend went to the Lawrenceville, NJ store. I was number 22 or so at the East Brunswick store (they only had 20) then she called my cell and said she got the last ticket Lawrenceville was handing out before hand. So I went down there and she had number 20. Waited on line for a couple hours and walked in and got it. I was surpised to see like 60 some odd people for Elmo though.

Nope, 50 dollars down got you a system. They had game slips separate and optional.

Wii's processor is a tweaked and overclocked Gamecube processor. Which we probably all assumed anyway.

my wife promissed me she would camp out on release day for me for my birthday!
I refuse to camp out for a pre-order. That is just rediculous.

Actually it is only $100 more than the Wal-Mart deal and you get 5 more games. Just no extra controller combo & wiipoints.

Think back a year when everyone was overcharging for the 360. Who would have ever imagined they would be doing the same with the little 'ole Wii? Sure the PS3, but the "Revolution" no fucking way.

You get about a $2.20 discount per game that way. Best Buy's GGCs will be a better deal anyway.

Proving that Cartman's antsy-ness about the Wii release is really not much of an exaggeration comparatively.
