Because it's not in stores yet. You can only do in-store pickup on items that are currently in stock.

Uhh, yeah, that is a brilliant deduction. So how is this different than preordering instore when they don't have the product at that specific point in time, either? That doesn't get shipped to you.

I didn't write the thing, but that's how Best Buy works it. You also can't do in-store pickup for items that they have less than three of.

do yourself a favor and get the premium. The wireless controller itself is worth is, and add on the hard drive and you're golden. Seriously.

Yea, I looked into it further and it seems to be just a physical map. There is a pic of it on Best Buy's site. Pretty lame.

Jump on the Frys deal this weekend(assuming it's still going). 360 Premium + Dead Rising, Saints Row & Test Drive: Unlimited for $450. That is only $50 more than SRP and you are getting 3 games.

The core 360 is the definition of tard pack. Definitely lives up to its name.

Gamestop has a 360 HDMI cable for pre-order, as well as lik-sang. With the 360 getting updated to output 1080p, could they have figured a way to use the current connection port and an adapter to output through HDMI?

I agree. The core 360 only comes with composite cables (the premium comes with a component/composite combo), so even if you have a HDTV, you won't see HD gaming through composite. The price of a component cable + memory card + core 360 is only marginally lower than the price of a premium.

Plus, the hard drive is a thousand times better than the memory card. The hard drive is required for Live. Also, many of the games use the hard drive to cache data which will greatly improve load times.

Actually, a memory stick can be used for Live. The hard drive is required for backwards compatibility.

Can you actually download stuff from Live onto the memory card? I wouldn't think it would have enough storage space for most of the downloads except the themes and such. Demos and game expansion content would probably be too big for the memory card.

.
Exactly.
- Hard Drive ($100)
- Component Cables ($40)
- headset ($20)
- wireless controller ($50)
- Remote ($20) are they still offering that included?

So you are paying $100 more for $200+ in gear. It is baffling why anyone would buy a core intentionally.

Games are required to be small enough to fit on a memory card. Now how many you can actually fit on one is another matter.

===

I inquired at EB about the wireless headset since I hadn't seen anything concrete yet. They had a 10/31 release at $59.99. Can anyone confrim or deny?

But wait, Suprmallet said "memory stick". Are we talking about the same things here? I know you can use a memory stick in the USB ports to play music and view pics(porn ) on the 360, but I wasn't aware one could save game related data to them yet.

You CANNOT use non-MS external storage devices for game saves, games, gamerpics, etc. They can only be used for music or photos. You have to buy the MS MEMORY UNIT for this.

Suprmallet likely has a typo on his hands.

Wow, I just read the GoW article in this months issue of EGM and it mentioned multiplayer...

A few things that surpised me big time.

1. Maximum of 8 player multi
2. No Deathmatch / Team Deathmatch / CTF

NO DEATHMATCH!?!? WTH!?!?

We've been playing COD2 with 8 player max and that has not been a big issue. We never play CTF so who cares about that anyway. The DM and TDM are a big problem though. I'm getting it either way.

Not been a big issue? Are you serious? It's ALWAYS an issue and we ALWAYS say "Man, I can't wait for COD3 when there can be 24 max". 8 players max is teh friggin suck.

True, I hate CTF and could care less about it but DM/TDM are a big problem, like you said.

If 8 people was really an issue, we would still be playing Halo2. It sucks but, it has not kept anyone from playing the game. I think GOW could be the same. If the gameplay is good, people will play it regardless. Look at GRAW. That's a good game but the waiting time to start mulitplayer matches takes too long and people lose interest.
