NEW YORK, NY - October 17, 2006 - 2K Sports, a publishing label of Take-Two Interactive Software, Inc. (Nasdaq: TTWO), announced today an innovative new feature, 2K Reelmaker, for NBA 2K7 on the Xbox 360™ video game and entertainment system from Microsoft. 2K Reelmaker enables fans to create their own unique video highlight reels from saved replays in NBA 2K7 and share them on Xbox Live®. 2K Reelmaker is available now on the Xbox Live Marketplace for 400 Microsoft Points.

"NBA 2K7 is the best selling* and highest** rated NBA title available for Xbox 360. To enable our fans to show off their gameplay highlights, we created 2K Reelmaker exclusively for Xbox Live," stated Erik Whiteford, VP of Marketing for 2K Sports. "2K Reelmaker is a robust video editing feature that gives our fans the ability to impress their buddies playing NBA 2K7 with self-edited clips of their best replays. 2K Sports has always delivered the most innovative and entertaining sports titles to gamers everywhere and now with Xbox Live, our work can continue even after our games are in the hands of gamers."

The first feature of its type for any online sports title, Xbox Live gamers can utilize saved game replay data from NBA 2K7 for the Xbox 360 and use the powerful video editing tools from 2K Reelmaker to create custom highlight videos viewable on Xbox Live. With 2K Reelmaker, gamers can adjust speed of the replays, add special effects, insert sound samples from the commentary team, and much more. Once edited, this video can then be shared on Xbox Live for all NBA 2K7 players to enjoy, creating a new online sports community experience.

Sounds a little more complex then what Burnout Revenge on the 360 had.

In the game, you could save a clip that you had from a race. You could upload it, via the EA server, and let your friends see it. If your clip showed up in the top 20 list, anyone could watch it.

But that was free in the game.

As bad as things are heading, that news story doesn't upset me as much. Sure, it could/should be included in the game. But for those not caring about sharing clips, they aren't required to buy it. Not buying it won't take anything away from the game.

I'd assume you could still watch clips, just not make your own, if you didn't buy the Reelmaker.

I'm aware of that. I'm saying I would actually buy a mouse/keyboard if there was a browser. No need wasting money ($50+) just to send text messages.

I don't see the problem. MS makes a browser, make it available on the 360. Some will use it some won't, and that is that. It's just an option. Like I said it could also be used as a marketing tool. Not only can they put "browser support" on the 360 box to help compete with the PS3 & Wii's browsers, they can brand MS keyboard/mouse sets to sucker people into buying a "compatible with 360" version when in reality any will work.

I game in the basement and don't want to go upstairs just to check email, or ebay auctions or even DVDtalk for short breaks between games. Just hit up the dashboard and load up IE. Make it optional, if not part of a system update, like the iPod support. Hit up the marketplace and d/l IE only if you want it.

A perfect example: a few weeks ago I had some friends over to game, I got to talking about Bioshock and none of them had seen anything about it. Of course I want to show them the 20 min walk-through video, so we all have to head upstairs to the small office to check it out on the small computer screen. Being able to swap over to IE on the fly to check something like that on the tv would be excellent.

That would be a nice inclusion if it wasn't forced. If it was done like you stated, that would make a nice addition to the dashboard.

A browser would be a nice "keeping up with the Jones' " feature. I'd much rather see the ability to play video off the HD personally, without the need to stream from a PC.

A guy can dream, i suppose.

How many here already use their primary HD display for surfing the web?

I have for at least 2 years.

Browsers = spyware, popups, cookies, ads, etc. I prefer to keep my gaming console clean from that junk. If your going to have a browser, the better way might be to enable remote access to your pc from your xbox. Or, a cheap way would be to set your vision camera in front computer montior and use a wireless keyboard and mouse.

Yeah, but we're talking about a Microsoft browser, and those things are solid like swiss cheese.

The build of Lumines I played for 5 minutes at the Roosevelt before E3 was pretty snazzy. It was easily the best looking Live arcade game at the show and the gameplay was pretty tight. I'm excited to see it as well, if the rumor is true.

A browser would be a nice inclusion but really how much use would you get out of it? It would be cool for a couple days then I'd realize that I don't spend much time sitting on my couch checking internet forums on my big TV and I'd go back to doing it the old fashioned way. What would be really cool is including RSS feeds so you can do things like news/stocks/scores and things like that. I could see myself using that.

In case anyone is interested, EB Games has the HD-DVD drive up for pre-order with a ship date of 11/7. Price is $199 and includes King Kong HD-DVD and media remote. Personally, I'll get one, but I'll wait until Amazon has it, since there is no tax and probably free shipping.

I just won the wireless racing wheel and wireless headset for the 360. I don't think that they have been released yet, but does anyone know what games the wheel will work for? Is it only Forza Motorsport 2?

It will also work with a special Force Feedback enabled version of PGR3 that should come packaged with it.

It's a Pepsi contest being run here in Canada. This is the third year it has been run. The first year they gave away about 1000 20G ipods (I won one). Last year they gave away the same amount of 360 Premiums with Kameo and either Madden or NFS before launch (I won one). This year, they are giving away a couple of different things: either an accessory pack (the wireless wheel and headset); a 360 with the Forza racing game; an MP3 player; a portable DVD player; or a 40" LCD TV. It runs from Oct 8 - Dec 8 or something, giving away a prize an hour. The prizes differ each hour, but you can always pick what you enter for. For example, the LCD TV is the 3PM draw every day.

So far, I am three for three!

I hope that the PGR3 game comes packaged with the one that I receive. No word about it on the site though.

Trust me, it is hard to win. The trick is knowing about the contest before the masses do. It takes a while for the pins to show up in stores on products, so if you know about it beforehand, your chances of winning are a lot better at the beginning when you only have a couple of hundred people entering each hour than at the end when you have well over 5,000 people (almost 10,000 people towards the end last year I think) entering each hour (they keep stats on the page).

And you all are just jealous

Why do I get the feeling that you are the person that delivers the pop to stores and such.

j/k that is some awesome luck in winning and I admit I'm jealous.

I tried so many pepsi caps the last year trying to get a free 360 system.

Don't worry if it doesn't. They said that there will be a patch for current PGR3 owners. Not sure what the point of including it with the wheel is then.

Maybe, but they have been saying the price will be $150 forever, which is about what I would expect for a Force Feedback/Wireless steering wheel.
