Yeah, the 2Ksports boards are a mess....I look at them, but it's hard to get any GOOD info.

I will start everything over, since I had no GOOD franchise/GM. I will KEEP MY Roster update, since I renamed players....although, I may D/L the newest one and just edit a few players.

What are people using GM or Franchise? Just curious what people like more.

Franchise here. I hate simulating games and accumulating "fake" stats, so I usually play shortened seasons. I wish you could play on GM Mode something other than a 162 game season, but I see the logistical reasons why not. A 50 game GM mode season would be perfect for me. The funds available for the teams also seems out of whack a bit, I play with fantasy drafted franchises. The Braves only have like 51 million available, and I know that the payroll is reportedly around 65-80. It seems like unless you're the Yanks or Sox you've only got between 45-55 million. I'm always scraping zero dollars at the end of the draft and I draft fairly conservative.

I'd be interested in playing but I've really got to get some playing time in first. I played last night on the 2nd hardest level and got absolutely rocked. Though, I don't mind being the patsy that everyone beats on as long as I get better as I go along and you guys don't get pissed because I suck.

If you get to the point where you can't start up because you need another player shoot me an email.

I don't have any idea how the online leagues work. I assume when you play in a league the league sets the same difficulty level for everyone so we're all on the same playing field (pun intended) right?

How long is the league and when do you usually play the games? I pretty much suck at this point too, but I wouldn't mind playing if the schedule fit. Is it drafted or what team is available?

Just as anFYI, I setup a season using the Pro sliders on 2ksports.com forum with the April 18th rosetrs and am a few games into the season. The sliders really helped a lot fo the issues I was having in terms of realism, especially in terms balls in the hole being close plays, balls up the gaps being doubles or triples, etc.

I think they could use a couple tweks, but they really add to the game and I'm enjoying it a lot. I must admit that the game plays looks and plays pretty last generation though, so I'm a little dissapointed there. I thought it would look better and have some kind of wild extras (not sure what they'd be).

But all in all, this went from being a disaster to something I'm glad to have.

After I get up to par on it I'll check out some online leagues.

When does the league play start?
As a Cubs fan I can at least take solace that even if I lose every game it will be worth it since I picked the Cards

it depends on if you guys want to just use the regular rosters or do a fantasy draft. i just want to use regular rosters so we can get this league started. it's just gonna be too long and too hard to get everyone to agree on a time to do the draft. also everyone should no use the league homepage to post and what not instead of using DVDTalk. There are polls and stuff too.

has anyone completed a fantasy draft and then been able to access the roster via the 360? One league I am in did the draft, but we all lock up when we try to enter the league via the console. (

Well, my game froze again last night. I played two games in my GM career, then I went to play last night, 8th inning and it froze. I'm really getting upset with this game. I actually LIKE THE GAME, but I cannot finish everygame without a hiccup.

Anyone else have some framerate issues running in 1080i? Seems to be a bit slow.

Maybe after Microsoft's maintenance today on Live, the patch will be available from 2K.

So this may sound odd, but is there any chance that playing with the hard drive makes the game harder?
Prior to the patch I could only play w/o the HDD. Played as the Cubs and my first game had 13+ runs and my second scored 17+ runs chased dontrell willis out in the second inning, had back to back to back to back home runs and 2 players with 3 HR. Woudl have scored way more runs too had I been abl eto control my runners and pretty much every game was like that.
Then when the patch came in and I could play with my HDD I started a season as the Cubs and won my first game against the Reds 1-0 and lost my second one like 2-0. Since then I went 7 games without being able to score a run (in exhibition mode). Hell I played as the Yankees against the Royals and they beat me 10-0 last night.
Just seems odd that I could get so bad at the game in the course of a week...

Also, a few things that annoy me about this game:
-Infielders range, pulled down balls that should easily drop into shallow OF
-Collisions in OF. Somehow my CF runs down a ball hit into RF/LF and when my RF/LF picks it up and trys to throw it they bump into each other and fall down. It is like Keystone Cops!
-Stealing bags is REALLY hard. To get my 5 steals in a game achievement I got caught like 9+ times.
-If you dive in OF to try to catch a ball and miss it will be an in the park home run.
+It is kinda funny that I pitched Chris Carpenter 10 innings to get my 15K achievement and kept him in till the 12th. He was at 0% Stamina in the 8th.

just played my week one game against the angels and we actually had a great game. True to form, Brad Lidge blew the save in the 9th. And Qualls blew a lead in the 11th and I lost in the 13th. i wrote a short recap of our game on the league page too. Its like the real MLB where the Astros bullpen is terrible. Is this league schedule flexible, or do we have to play in the order of the schedule?

I agree. You have to move the sliders that turn off collisions and chnage filelders speed and aggressiveness. It makes the game much more fun.

I just got this game for XBox. I have a first gen xbox, version 1.0 but with Xbox live capability. My friend has the same XBox as me, and whenever I go to swing I press A but nothing happens. I cannot practice swing either. I have to use the hit stick every time I'm at bat, and sometimes the player refuses to swing. This is a VERY OBNOXIOUS BUG. However, his hitting works with the A button. Anyone else have this problem? This game is VERY poorly made and should not have been released. Additionally, I love how the announcer will talk about Derek Jeter being up at bat when Robinson Cano is at bat, and the Announcers are named incorrectly. The announcer is Joe Morgan and Harold Renolds, however, Joe sometimes says OK, time to turn it over to ___ who is not Harold, and then Harold begins to talk. The passed ball flaw is ABSOLUTE BS and has cost me games. Today I played against the Angels and hit the ball to their short stop 5 times throughout the game and he booted the ball 4/5 times, which is UNREAL. I love the bottom of the 9th pressure pitching, and the look of the stadiums but when you can't hit, this game begins to piss you off. My roomate said to me today, man, you get pissed off even during your leisure time, when I was about to smash the controler because Giambi refused to swing on a 3-2 pitch with the bases loaded right down the middle of the plate for strike 3 to end the inning. I bought it because someone said this game was GREAT, boy were they mistaken. Please let me know if anyone else can't swing with A button and how to fix it...I cannot change controller options, either, THANKS 2k sports!

Did you delete all the MLB files that you saved prior to downloading the patch?

No, 2Ksports never said to do that. The only files I re-used though are my VIP and Roster I edited....which I don't want to do again.

I was able to play 2 games after the patch, then the 3rd froze. I have not tried again since then, but I was annoyed.
