Try deleting the vip file. Several people who reported that the game was still freezing on them after the patch resolved the issue by deleting the old file. If you had freezing issues before the patch the file may be corrupt.

my friend came in and changed the settings so I can bat with A button now, game is much more enjoyable. I hit a homerun that barely cleared the wall and the outfielder kept running into the wall until I held R and started pressing A and somehow it got out of the glitch. I noticed one more thing though which is crummy. I hit a ball deep to right field in Angels stadium, and I could read the scoreboard as the outfielder ran for the ball, and it said NYY 4 CLE 6 which was pretty funny considering I was the Yankees and not playing Cleveland. Additionally, I hit another ball there later in the game and the score was the same and so was the inning. So, I'm not a big fan of the fake scoreboard.

I finally have gotten over my FREEZE aspect of the game.....however, I was playing last night against KC in my GM Career and they were on a COLD streak. Anyways...they had 14 ERRORS in the game and I won 32-0. It made the game not fun and I was actually getting myself out on purpose to end innings. Anyone seen this error glitch????
