This really sucks, staring at it right now only to find out I might be risking 64 bucks.

Ha, don't say I didn't warn you guys. As I expected, the 360 version is just like the XBox version, only prettier.

We put it in the display when we got it in today at work (considering we got in about 90 copies, and needed to sell some). Sure enough, as I was playing against a customer, the same gameplay muffs that I'd previously brought up with the XBox version are still there. This is just terrible. I actually traded in my XBox version yesterday and got MVP 2005 from Gamestop. It plays smooth, I just had to jump online with my Action Replay and download the accurate rosters.

Count me among the disappointed. But I guess since this is the only baseball for the 360, we have to take it and like it.

The graphics look like they just took the Xbox game and copied it over. The stadium intros are EXACTLY the same as 2k5. The controls aren't bad, though its gonna take some time to get used to hitting with the right stick.

I played a quick game and got really pissed when the screen blanked out EVERY time I pressed the "A" button after a play was done so that I could get to the next play quicker.

What I just don't understand is how does MLB (or the NFL, for that matter) think it is a good business decision to allow ONE company to make their sports game. Someone had to think about the negative future if the game stunk.

I paid $55 at Wal-Mart, but have a feeling that this one's gonna be $24.99 before long.

Well I just played my first game and I have to say that this is the worst baseball game I have ever played. It looks and plays like crap.

the sad thing is, I went to gamespot today after class to see if they had it running on the demo machines and they were SOLD OUT...first day, sold out. If it's really as bad as people say, that really scares me for the next few years for baseball games, or whenever the license runs out.

I completed an online game, and it was ok. Seemed like my player all hesitated before moving to field the ball, which led to some balls getting by that should have been caught.

I'll still take part in any DVDtalk league, so count me in (still)

I played for 5 or 6 innings earlier and had no problem. I just tried playing 2 games and they both froze up in the first inning. Needless to say, I'm pretty pissed off.

Yep mine freezes every game now too. What a piece of crap this game is. Has anyone ever tried returning an open game to ebgames?

Damn, I didn't pick mine up yesterday, but I planned on it today. It still seems to be a mixed bag of reviews. As for freezing, that is unacceptable....I read something that if you delete the VIP profile, it MIGHT work better.

I'll see, since I really need a baseball game and I unhooked all my other consoles.

Updating rosters on last year's MVP is starting to sound like the best option. Do you have any idea if the Action Replay thing will work with a Mac, or is there software you have to install that's only on Windows? If it works with a Mac, I'll probably pick up the Action Replay and dust off last year's MVP.

Well, I've read enough. Looks like my baseball playing this year will be on the PS2. I can't believe 2K sports would release a title with this many problems. Makes you wonder what the hell they were doing when working on this year's version.

I tried that and it still locks up on me. It's times like this I wish I kept my XBox and PS2. Looks like my only option this year is to pick up MLB for the PSP.

I know the reviews have been stellar, but I would see if you could rent MLB first. I've got it and don't get me wrong, it's ok, but I almost can't finish a complete 9 inning game without getting bored. I qualify it as a good portable baseball game, but nothing I wouldn't sit down to play for days at a time if I wasn't travelling.

Well, some people have NO freezing issues...so, maybe it's different builds of the 360, who knows. I'll take my chances today....

So most agree with me...MVP 2005 is a better game? I certainly think so, at this point.

Anyway, are there plans for EA Sports to release MVP 2006? (I know, what an outrageous concept).

They can't release one with the real teams and players. That's why they released the college baseball game on the other consoles.

They signed exclusive 3rd party rights. Microsoft, Sony and Nintendo can put them out if they wanted...which Sony has done. Too bad MS sucks ass with sports.

Anyways, I picked up the game anyways today. I'll try it out later.....hopefully it does not freeze.

Didn't MS buy the High Heat franchise when Acclaim went under?

2K Sports has acknowledged the freezing issue:

Yeah, they did. I think High Heat Baseball '04 was the last baseball game I truly loved playing.

Well, at least they acknowledged it and are working on it....that pleases me. They would not admit to NHL freezing at all. So this is a step forward.

It's sad when the pinnacle of the genre (Baseball Stars) is approaching 20 years old.

I'll throw in an off-topic vote for Super Batter Up on SNES. I've probably logged more minutes on that than any other video game ever.
