anyone feel like alot of the maps in multiplayer feel more like mazes with all the little trails and rocks? wheres all the big open enviorments the first ghost recon featured lots of hidding and sniping and was more cat and mouse gameplay. this in multiplayer feels faster

I thought the same thing at first maingon but after playing a few of the matches I noticed that most of the dead end areas actually seem to provide good cover or a decent viewing angle of another area of the map where the enemy may travel through. There were two situations in particular last night when I got a ton of kills just by being nowhere near where the objective was and the enemy never paid any attention to me. So once I know where all the points are on the maps it won't be a problem, it'll just take a bit of getting used to.
I think all games start out seeming like a maze though It's embarrasing for me to admit but I probably played Colossus for Halo2 like a hundred times before I figured out how it was laid out.

You should be able to toggle them on/off with X (blue button) any time during the game.
(If it is not X, then try Y)
On the other hand, hopfully you are not a disappointed with the NVG as I was.

Hmm, maybe I'm doing something wrong then because the only goggles I seem to have are night vision. which, are kinda useless (though they do work well for spotting enemies from a distance).
Edit-Ok I'm dumb I guess, what I thought was night vision are actually the thermal goggles (green). Was able to finish the mission just now.

I plan on concentrating a lot of time on this game this weekend. I'd like to get a few more achievements and complete some of the single player campaign before Oblivion comes out and destroys my free time. If you're not already on my friends list, feel free to add me. I'm sure there will be a lot of DVDTalkers online this weekend for some multiplayer action.
There are a few more campaign missions that most of us still need. It sucks to have to sit out if you die, but it really is a fun challenge to try to complete. The ability to talk to other dead players and observe the live ones is really a nice touch, plus it will give me some time to play some of my new PSP games while I'm waiting. Hope to see a lot of guys online this weekend.

Czar. I will be playing this on the weekend as well.
I'd like to finish up the multiplayer campaign missions and try to get them all perfect for the Perfect Chapter 1 achivement.
That was a lot of fun the other night.
If Halo is frustrating like last Friday, after putting in Burnout for a short bit, I'm all for GRAW night tonight.

I have GRAW rented for the weekend so if you guys don't mind a newbie like me in your game kick me an invite. I figure i will begin the evening Halo and switch to GRAW sometime before midnight - i really need to get some online play with this game to determine if i want to buy it or not.

I've been having a great time playing the multiplayer campaigns with my friends. Just finished everything up though, and now I feel hollow.
Wharf was by far the hardest one to complete.

I have been playing GRAW single player and since I am stuck on the level where you have to capture General Ontiveras at the palace (level 9 or 10 I think) I may try the multi-player (never even played any game on Live).
My Live name is same as my DVDTalk username. Feel free to add me to friends list.
Just got Burnout Revenge so might be playing that so feel free to add me for that as well.

I finished the game on normal, and I don't know if I am going to try again on hard, or do some of the multi-player missions (with only me). Does doing these solo open the points like if I had more?
I will hope to play online next weekend (free gold 3/31 - 4/2) so I would like to do some online with the DVDtalkers. Is there a group or plcae to look for members?

I enjoy playing this game a lot. The multiplayer is good, but I don't like the lobby setup, as you'll need to wait quite a while before you can play when games are in progress. A great option though is the instant action, where you're able to play the multiplayer locations on your own. Its pretty tough, though, and I've not even been able to finish a single location, but it still is a great option. Wish there was an way to respawn, as given my limited skill, might not ever be able to finish any of these locations.

Hey Dave, thanks for the tip! That makes it an even greater game for sure!!! And will eat up a lot of hours for me again as I try to take on all locations! Thanks!!!
Now maybe you have a way of doing multiple saves on campaigns? I am in a level where I only have one team mate with me. I'm not sure if this is bec. the others died in a previous level, or it really set up to have only one teammate on this level. But if I'm supposed to have my 3 member team with me here, then I would truly like to be able to get back to the earlier level so I can try and save my guys before this level.

I don't believe you are ever "required" to keep your team alive. I would continue on, and soon enough you with get a "ghost truck" or end of level where you will get more ammo and a restock of team members, (even those who have died). I know that there is a white grenadier with-out a elmet, I tried to use him a couple of times and he always died.
Most of the time the end up not being much help anyways. I really like the team set-up in the PS2 SOCOM series, these guys in GRAw seem mentally incompetant. I have figured out if you tell them to move someplace, they will usually hold postion there. If you tell them to regroup, the will walk into the line of fire.

I wouldn't mind doing some of those next weekend with the DVDtalkers, since it is free gold. I don't have live because I don't play much during the week.

I meant locations, like the bone yard elimination, maps where there are no set "goals" as opposed to the co-op missions where you have objectives you need to complete.
But I see from your response it is adjustable for any multi-player games.
