Yeah, the 36K is what I would recommend, I don't know for sure which one I had. I would just pop out and send a spray and duck back in. You take out those 4 or 5, then move up and repeat a few times.

Gromit,
Maybe you're popping out of cover and exposing yourself to the enemies.
If you're not doing this already, try it:
While up against a wall, approach the corner and push (and hold) in that direction one last time to 'peek' around the wall. The enemies may spot you and start shooting. Now wait for them to empty all their rounds on the wall, and when they're reloading, press and hold the Left Trigger (you do not have to press your thumbstick in the direction to peek around the wall). This puts you in aiming mode. Squeeze the Right Trigger to begin firing and release the Left Trigger to take cover once again.
Another helpful hint:
If you're enemies are pretty close to you, keep your rifle in full auto. Otherwise, if they seem far away, switch to semi-automatic mode (you must pull the trigger each time to fire-off one bullet at a time). I mostly keep my rifle in semi-auto unless I'm in melee distance. That's when I go full auto.
Happy huntin'.

I do this everytime I do not use my sniper. Last night this got me about 6 kills, 4 of which were mutual kills, simply because I had it on full auto and I sprayed as soon as I walked into the other players.

Surprisingly, the Mk 48 LMG (successor to the SAW M249) is a very accurate weapon for a weapon designed to provide cover fire and suppress the enemy.
Here's how I use it:
If I spot someone far away, I pull the trigger in a series of short blasts. A sort of pseudo-semi auto.Try it for yourself. But if someone is up close or takes me by surprise I hold that trigger down and unleash 100 rounds of hell.

I just picked this up but I haven't hooked up my 360. We'll see how I do on it. I didn't like the XBOX Ghost Recon but I did like Rainbow Six 3 for some reason.

Oh. I have my days messed up. lol. Tomorrow is Burnout.
Either way. GRAW or COD... I haven't played DoA4 in a while.. I still need to get the rest of the achivements that are possible. I'll never get A, S or SS rank. Heck, I can't even beat the time trials or survival to get those achivements.

Well the DLC is out, did not get it yet, it is 725mb and cost 1250 points. There was also a patch download, but I can find NO details about this at all.

I heard people are having problem with crashes after the patch, I wonder if it is just used to get your ready for the DLC. If that is the fact I am not updating my copy till more info surfaces.

I downloaded the map pack the other day. It seems to be a little tougher playing by myself in co-op campaign mode. I almost finished the coffee plantation map last night but ran into a "resource problem".
I ran out of grenades, and didn't have time to go back and re-stock.

I finished the Coffee Plantation map tonight by myself. I had a little bit of luck, though. I shot a guy that was standing next to one of the armored vehicles in the NE corner of the map, just as he was throwing a grenade at me. He dropped the grenade under the APV and blew it up. I should get a special achievement for that.

This game is kicking my ass. I've been stuck on the same part for a couple of days now, and it isn't even really a hard part (so I've been told). It's the fifth mission (Mayday Mayday), and I can't achieve the second objective. It took me ages to actually get by the armored vehicle, now I can't make it past the couple of snipers once I get up the stairs. I think that I know what to do, but actually doing it is another story. Getting very very frustrated with my lack of progress.
I actually thought that my console or disk were toast. It locked up, and when I popped the disk out, it was extremely hot. After leaving it for a few hours, when I put it back in, it said that it was unreadable. I got it to work again after, but since this is my second console, I was worried that I would have to send it away again.

Couple of days later, and still no progress to report. Still can't beat this objective, though I've gotten closer than I did before. I went through a couple of walkthroughs, and I didn't get a whole lot of new information there.

I'm actually on the last level on Expert right now, so I did this level last week. Are you at the part where the transport pulls up and drops guys off and there are three guys behind sandbags and a sniper in a tower at the end? Or did you blow up the two vehicles in the park and are heading up the castle path?

Through the first part that you mention, but not quite at the second part. I am just getting caught after I make it up to the top of the stairs. I think that there are two snipers in a tower. I only had one sniper left, and he got me

I'm doing this from memory at work, but if you crouch at the end of the wall at the top of the stairs, there should be one sniper in the tower opposite from your wall. There is another guard in front of the tower and if you peek around the corner a couple of more will run behind some barrels(?) in front of you. You can safely take the tower guy by sighting him when you're halfway up the top stairs and then take out the rest by peek-and-shoot at the wall corner. Don't get up until these guys are all dead or you'll probably get nailed by two other guys who are in the area to the right of the aforementioned barrels. Those two are hard to hit since there are a lot obstructions they duck behind in that area and you have to shoot over a wall. I suggest throwing a grenade to get rid of them. The first of the three vehicles you have to C4 is next to the sniper tower, but be careful when you advance since I remember there were at least two single guys waiting around the corners of those tents (buildings) so do the peekarounds before advancing to the tower.

so i popped in GRAW last night for the first time in a while and it said it needed to get an update. So I got it and went to load my save game (i'd already finished the game so I'm saved at the last level) only to find it loads but the "Play Game" option is grayed out and only the training mission shows on mission select. Did my save get corrupted, did the patch do something, or both?
