Well i gave in and bought the game, wont be able to play if for a few more hours. I still have some reservations about if I will like it or not. Does the game start out slow? Basically how long should I give it if I'm not enjoying it at first?

Good advice for the Dark Brotherhood questline. Not a major spoiler, but just incase someone doesn't want anything at all ruined.

Spoiler:

When you are visited by Lucian and he gives you the Blade of Woe, do not get rid of it after that mission. It weighs 0 and doesn't encumber you. After you complete the questline, that weapon becomes a little more useful. I won't spoil that, but keep it on you, or if not. At least pick it up and have it in your inventory before you do the final quest for the Dark Brotherhood.

it starts out quickly, the game is a blast and wait till you see how big the world is, when you get on some hills and look both sides and see the land scape just going on and on its pretty amazing.

I just got this for the PC (runs great), but my only "problem" is that however I may tweak my character in it's creation, they always turn out looking rather.... retarded.

Anything Bethesda releases will be available on the 360 and PC. The mods by players won't be.

So I just lost a ton of stuff I had collected becasue it disappeared from a chest in one of my houses. I had weapons, armor, and a lot of potions in one particular chest. When I went back to it after doing a mission everything was gone except the few default pieces of cloths that start off in chests. Some of the stuff were items I got for completing missions. I'm really pissed about it.

I hope that isn't a common glitch because i have a ton of stolen goods in the chest at my shack in the Imperial City. Several staves stolen from the Arcane University and lots of magic armor i haven't sold yet.

Just so anyone can avoid it this happened in
Spoiler:
the dresser at the foot of the bed in the Arch-Mage tower after I completed the Mage's Guild. I lost the staff I made for the guild quest, the arch-mage robe/hood, and the king of worms robe along with a ton of other stuff.
I'd avoid putting anything in there.

Hmm.. I have a bunch of stuff in a dresser on the left side of the bed in that location. I assumed since it was now mine, things would be safe.
So far, they are in there. But maybe I better take them out and put them in the actual house I bought.

I got stuck last night, and went to bed before I could figure out what I was doing wrong. I decided to try to join the Thieves Guild, so I talked to the guy (A-something) in the garden in the Imperial City. I guess he's some big shot in the thieves guild.
Spoiler:
He gives me and two other characters the task of being the first to steal a diary from some guy in town and return it to him. I was the first to get the diary, but I can't find the guy in the garden to return it to him. The quest help in the menu says return the diary before midnight, however, I didn't start the task until after midnight, so there is no possible way to get the diary back to him before midnight. I tried fast forwarding through a whole day just to get to a time that is before midnight, but that didn't seem to work.
Any ideas?

Hmm.. that was how I did it..
Spoiler:

I met him at midnight. By time the quest was given, it was after midnight. I got the diary, and waited until just before midnight. I saw him walking to the meeting spot and waited until he stopped near me. Then I gave him the diary.

Though, The one chick beat me. I had to find her house and steal it from her.

And even if you missed that opportunity, or if you didn't get the diary first, you are given another chance to join. You might have to wait through another day until midnight and speak to him again.

Yep, the item is due by midnight the next day. That person always walks to that same spot every midnight to do business. So just get the item, sleep or do other things until midnight, then take it to him.

Alright. I'll try again. I'm thinking I didn't wait long enough. It was like 11:15 and he wasn't there. I'll push it right to 11:59 or so and see what happens.

He starts walking your way with a torch right at midnight. He normally gets there a few minutes after midnight and stays till near 1am.

He is just your first Doyen though, not too high up in the guild.

Yeah, you have to wait until after midnight. Also, you can't talk to him about "business" until he is in the garden. It's pretty frustrating.

Can anyone help me with the Cure Vampire quest? I've got everything but 2 nightshades. I can't find anyone else selling them, and I'm not sure where they grow in the wild.

I've found nightshade growing in the wild. Can't recall specifically where, but I think it was around water areas.

Also, I have found shops selling it, as well as found some in different Mage guilds.

It has to grow in the wild because i think i have like 8 or 9 in my inventory and i know i have made potions with it before. I spend a good deal of time harvesting things out in the wild. Also if you find some remember that it will regrow in a couple days and you can pick it at that location again. (unless it is the nimrod plant )

Has anyone else got the Adoring Fan yet? After a few hours of letting him follow me around, I hit him with a fireball spell, pushed him off that really high snow covered mountain and listened to him scream as he fell to his timely demise.

After I found his lifeless body at the bottom of the gorge, I stripped him and put his corpse on display in my nearby home. Perhaps I'll dump his body in the lake later so he can respawn for my amusement.

This kind of thing happens when you reset the cache (hold down A button on startup). I had heard about this happening.

Ok so question for you guys that are obviously kicking ass at this. Basically the only RPGs I've played are the SW: KOTOR games and loved them. I took a flyer on Oblivion because of the hype and good reviews and especially how awesome it sounded from you guys on the board. So I also got the strategy guide and we did some of the first missions, but I'm 14 hours in and I haven't done ANYTHING as cool as you guys. I've done 3 or 4 Dark Brotherhood missions and played the main quest through joining the Blades, but my level still sucks and I think I'm following the book too much. I cranked down the difficulty almost to the bottom, do you think that would affect any of the items or rewards I get? I don't want to give up since I'm basically already immersed without having done jack, but I don't want to get to 30 hours and be a level 6 with no cool stuff to show for it. Suggestions?

The items you get and enemies you fight are based on what level you are, doesn't have to do with the difficulty. I would suggest rasing it a good bit though, because the combat is pretty fun. Just under halfway should make it slightly more frustrating without being overly challenging.

Make sure that you know what traits you need to work on to level up your character. I found out that by simply casting a few spells randomly that I didn't normally cast I leveled up a couple times really quickly. I also had to start using blunt weapons rather than only swords level up my Battlemage faster.
