I think I found a bug....while trying to join the Thieves Guild, I wanted to travel back to the waterfront to take the diary and so on....BUT, it said that i couldnt fast travel since the guards were after me....it was odd becuase they werent! They were even talking to me. SO, I committed a crime and THEN they were after me...I paid the fine and all was well....I then could fast travel....has this happened to anyone else?

I'm just puzzled because my speed is way reduced (down to like 4 without my speed boosting equipment) and is red, yet when i look at my active effects nothing is listed as affecting me negatively. I've only been infected with one disease (vampirism) and i am very unencumbered (like carrying 87 weight out of 250 possible). I'm also only wearing light armor. *sigh* This is a bit aggravating since speed is kind of helpful as a thief.

someone could of hit you with a weapon that lowers your stats. If you go to a temple alter and 'activate' it, it will lift the curse off your stats.

I had the same problem with my wisdom. It was lowered, but I had no disease. I just went to the temple alter, and it fixed it though.

there are enchanted weapons that will do that im pretty sure. OR sometimes a long stay in the prison will lower your stats.

Please do. It's a good bandit cave for some loot, but the bottom level is driving me nuts.

I just stumbled on this cave on my way to Anvil. I'll be damned if it's going to get the best of me.

The mission where you have to kill off the whole draconian family throughout the world. One of them was a guard and it took me forever to kill her without getting a bounty.

Also, has anyone else been having a hard time finding a good helmet? I wear light armor and the best I've found is chainmail (not counting special echanted items like the DB hood). I have full sets of mythril and elven armor except for the helmet. I haven't run across either one.

Where did you locate the mythril and elven armor? I need some.

I found the elven helmet last night, but can't for the life of me remember where I found it. It was in a town... I'll think on it.

I've just been finding pieces on people I've killed for missions in caves. I haven't seen them for sale anywhere. Just go into random caves and ruins you find and you'll get a set as long as your level is high enough for that type of armor. I think elven armor starts to appear at level 15.

Running at 1600x1200 with every visual option set to max and HDR on, the game looked amazing and I experienced no slowdown at all on the 7900GT... and then I got out of the dungeon. I figured I was getting about 10-12 frames per second and everything was lagging way behind my mouse. I got a bit depressed and turned it off for the evening to go watch the Sopranos. This morning as I was about to leave for work I realized that I probably had my Card setup to high, and sure enough I had 4x AA and 16x Anistropic filtering on. Tonight I'm going to download the thing to display framerates, and try it again.

I still don't have everything o'clocked to the max yet, so frame rates should improve slightly with that as well.
Played the game a bunch the past two days. Using a tip I found on the Elder Scrolls board, I turned off the Pre-render frames option on my graphics card and now I average around 30 FPS outside and 60-70 inside (it's cool when you're reading a book or something to see your FPS shoot up to over 1000!). The 7900GT chews through this game amazingly well. Well worth the $315 I paid for it.

I decided that I didn't want to sit around and wait for the stupid shops to open, so I started out on the main quest. I found a cave and managed to level up to level 2, then went to Kvatch. I was able to close the oblivion gate pretty easily, but the battle for Kvatch kicked my ass. All the soldiers with me died extremely quickly, and I was left to battle the super Scamps on my own... something not easy to do when you've used up all your health potions I had to reload several times, and wait for my mana to completely recharge before taking on the next scamp, so that I could cast healing spells on myself. Then in the middle of the battle, my main sword broke and I had no repair hammers. The whole thing was extremely frustrating and took far too long. I need to deliver Martin, and then head back to Imperial city and pick up supplies and maybe learn how to fight a little better... I'm still stuck in the Morrowind style.

While Oblivion is beautiful, I'm not 100% sure I like it better than Morrowind. The interface is not nearly as easy to use as Morrowind's... mostly because it had to be compatible with the 360. I wish I could just bring up my screen, see what I've got equiped, where I am on the map and what my stats are all at the same time without having to click 5x.

I've gotten some of my magical skills up pretty high.
Today, I was doing a quest and one of the people I had to kill had a Ebony Sword.
Nice little sword, worth 4k on its own. I enchanted it with a grand soul gem I had on hand. I gave it a nice new name, Sword of Life Stealing

It does damage health 20 points for 6 seconds on strike and absorb health 10 points for 4 seconds on strike. I can't wait to try it out.

Maybe you need to feed first? Also, aren't there spells that can calm people down?
