I'm seeing a lot of units popping up online using the http://bensbargains.net/xbox360/xbox360.php site. Mostly bundles though and not all premium.

Using Circuit City's site, it said it had 360's in stock at a store nearby. Not getting my hopes up, I drive over and of course the guy said they didn't have any and that the in-stock status was wrong online (he mentioned it first, I didn't say anything about it). He said to come back Sat, they *may* have some. Do you think they really did have them in the back but were just waiting for ..?????.. to sell them later, like BB has done? This is getting so frustrating

My circuit city had someone tell me they had like 750 units in their warehouse and were waiting for their inventory to finish next week and then they would be shipped out to the individual stores. It was a normal worker bee who told me this info so take it for what you will.

Yeah, seems like there are pretty consistent bundles available...it's still ridiculous that I can't walk into a store and get one of these things without a bunch of extra crap thrown in.

All I want is the premium system and PD0 and Condemned. I was very close twice now to ordering the core live bundle from walmart since it comes with a wireless controller and the charge kit. The only thing missing from it is the hard drive which I could get later but that bundle is over $600 shipped. Both times I went to order it went out of stock before I could get one.

Well no go on the ordering one at a Circuit City for me. They were savvy to that plan and the guy also said he had tried the same thing for himself earlier and says the 360 special orders aren't going through correctly for them. They did have 3 cores in the back they offered me but yet again i can't get a bloody premium.

Well, I broke down and bought the platinum bundle from PC Connection.

I tried a third time for the walmart live bundle but they wanted over $80 for shipping and tax. With PC Connection I got free shipping and no tax. Much better value plus I get 4 games and the premium system rather than the core. Oh well.

Woot fuckin woot. I was able to pickup an expired layaway this morning in a city not too far away from me. It was a Wal-mart and they had one premium and one core. Finally, my daily calls to all the places can cease.

We were at Circuit City last night picking up a monitor and I asked about the 360, they had 3 cores. They made an announcement over the intercom after we talked about it and no one came running the 5 more minutes we were in there.
edit: They said they had 570 in the warehouse just waiting to be released.

Maybe it's beacuse I live in the NYC area or maybe it's because I work 12 hour days 7 days a week, but I have been unable to find a 360.
These internet bundles are crazy! Can we expect this with the PS3 and Revolution launches? My guess is probably so.

Sony's been working on the PS3 for a while, I imagine their will be more around, but it will still be relatively tough to find.
The revolution, IMO, should be much easier to find. I love nintendo and what they're doing with it, but I think it will be a tough sell initially for a lot of gamers, and thus should be easier to find in stock.

I've been passively seeking one by just checking out the stores as I visit them. Do the stores(Target, Walmart, CC, BB, etc.) even put them out or do you have to ask? I'm a huge Xbox guy who just bought $200+ (TRU thank you) worth of games that I haven't worn out yet and wont work with the 360 so I'm in no rush to pay for more than just the system when there are no real must have games outside of Call of Duty. Plus, I was waiting to see how the HD-DVD issue played out. Not because I want an HD-DVD player but because of content (regular DVD=4.7 GB, Blu-ray=25 GB = lot more content). However as someone who has watched this move by MS with some interest, I must say they're doing something equally frustrating for the consumer and equally ingenious from a business standpoint. MS has managed to make the 360 a must have item that everyone, gamer or not, recognizes b/c of its rarity. By mid-year, MS will then flood the market to ensure those of us wanting one and now salivating because we haven't got one yet get one before Sony releases. I promised myself I'd show some self-restraint and not fall victim to the hype and wait it out but my visits to the stores are more frequent now than before. Anyone think MS has a lot of stock in the oil companies and they benefit from us driving around trying to find one?
