Not true. Buyers are more than willing to pay for FedEx and/or another overnight shipping service to get one of these... trust me.

And even after mid-week, sellers can still turn these units over quickly on Craigslist for a decent profit (meeting up with buyers locally).
The secondary market's going insane right now, and will continue to get worked over all the way up to Xmas eve.

Last night i did my first overnight camp out for a system with a buddy of mine.
(i still cant believe i did it) I will say it was a lot of fun. My best buy had 26 and i was # 21. We had beer, a bonfire, a bunch of psps and we all stuck together and we all took breaks and watched out for each other. One guy made a list with all 26 names on it to avaoid anybody cutting in line or BS. Around 5 am people just started to pile out and tried to get in line. The line ended up getting to over 100 people. Out of the 26 i figure 15 of em were going straight to ebay.

For those still searching, you might want to try your local Walmart in the late evening. In Indianapolis, they get their shipments at 10pm. I went to 4 separate ones last night and was a little too late, but all 4 said they had received systems in their evening shipments. As I got to one, there were 2 people checking out with premium systems and 1 with a core system. Every Walmart I went to said they'd be getting more in at least 1 night this week, but wouldn't specify which night(s). I'll probably try at least one or two random nights in hopes of getting one.

for those who ordered it yesterday morning on BB.com, here is whats going on

For whoever got this message: Status: Order in process of being fulfilled.

if that was changed yesterday to back ordered and then changed back to Status: Order in process of being fulfilled., why might be in good shape of getting them soon.

I spoke to a customer rep(she was very informative) and she explained that yesterday, alot of people ordered before they can update the amount they had. So now it appears that the facility that has all the Xboxes are now trying to work with MS to fulfill all the orders that were done yesterday before christmas.

So cross your fingers guys.....

Mine has said Status: Order in process of being fulfilled since yesterday morning. It never changed to backordered. They also already authorized my card and put a hold on the funds.

What pisses me off is some people who used that javascript bug already have shipping notices.

We're just getting more than one because we can. If you want, for $100 I'll let you have one of my 3 places in line. You know, to pay for the time I've spent waiting." I should have yelled back "You ASSHOLE, you were waiting for your self, not everyone you know!"

I just wanted to shoot the guy right there in the parking lot.
That sucks....If he was holding their place while they were going to the restroom or to get something to eat, then I wouldnt have an issue with it. We did that when in line for Phantom Menace tix back in 99. We made friends with the people in line, so they would hold our place while we got some breakfast.

But, just holding a place until right before they open is ridiculous and uncalled for.

Yeah, I agree, but then again 15 people wouldn't be gone all at once. At the first Best Buy we waited at there were signs saying you couldn't hold spots, and a rope designating the line. But this other Best Buy was in the middle of no near and the manager must not have been too worried about it. They were all bunched together in a circle.

If any of the Best Buys within 100 miles had gotten 48 units like time store in the U.S. did, chances are we could have gotten one.

It does for these guys:

Would-be 360 scalpers robbed.

an armed robber and an accomplice made off with four newly purchased Xbox 360s that several young men had tried to scalp.

I agree. I don't care if it's legal or a free market, work 2 jobs or get a better job if you want to make money. Stop taking the x box 360 from the real gamers.

Scalping is the market at work. Some people are more willing to pay a premium then stand in the freezing cold, outside a store, with only a hope that you can get your hands on one. You pay for the convenience of not having to do that.

Yep, I have not fault with scalpers. If the companies would wait to launch when they had a decent supply on hand, it wouldn't be a problem.

Not yet. One guy on FW who had the same time of email confirmation that I did called BB. He said they had actually shipped his (still shows being fulfilled on order status), but the system had not updated yet. So, maybe ours have actually shipped. I haven't called to see for sure.
