I agree. However, the guy offering to give up his spot for $100, that's just being greedy.

If you're talking about the guy I encountered, it wasn't his spot he was trying to sell, it was one of "his" three spots in line. I couldn't fault the guy if there were 24 people in line, and he had been standing around for 8 hours and wanted some money for his time, but the fact that he had THREE spots in line in the first place was just wrong. Let alone all the other people who were holding multiple spots.

I called the local EB Games, because my bro-in-law is still waiting for his pre-order, and they told me they have gotten 4 since launch. I bet once again it was 4 that made it past the employees.

Cool...what was the time you received your order confirmation initially? Mine still says waiting to be filled.

A coworker of mine is going to Toronto the week after Christmas. Depending on the supply and the exchange rate maybe I could have her sneak one over the border for me
But seriously, any thoughts on if supplies will still be bone dry the week after Christmas? I have 0% on purchases on my Credit Card through 12/31 so if I'm going to get one anytime soon, I'd like to do it before that expires.

Unfortunately standard shipping. I was trying to get the order in so quickly and get my reward zone and my other 2% rebate I forgot to make the shipping 2 day. What about you?

that was my thought, here there are tons of people in this thread badmouthing people who buy them to scalp and this guy is buying two. He could have a legitimate reason (bought one for a gift for someone) but I'm suprised no one picked up on that until you posted.

EB Games hasn't let anyone, including employees buy a 360 before the people on the pre-order list get theirs. Frankly, I'm surprised they've even gotten 4, since we've received zero after launch.

That is good to know that no "Target" type sniping has been occuring, but I am a bit suprised that the boutiques (except online) aren't getting (m)any, especially CostCo has gotten hundreds to put next to the bulk jerkey.

I wish there was a Costco closer to me, not only for the 360 but I think I'd shop there enough to make my membership worthwhile.

Oh and to Raven, I wasn't implying that you were buying one soley to sell, I just thought it was odd that no one had asked you about it until Gallant Pig pointed it out. Just wanted to clarify.

It's pretty annoying, because these people put in time and money to get one in advance, and now they're waiting and waiting while other people are finding them by accident at CostCo. Now, the EB deposits are refundable at any time, but it's still absurd. Even though Microsoft says corporations are not telling them how many preorders they got (which is possible), they still can figure out which stores take preorders and which don't. It's just one of the many mistakes they've made with this launch.

Wasn't someone here saying EB Games had a huge market share and would be about the only way to get a 360 anytime soon?

I think they're letting them trickle, slowly, into their retail outlets as they handle their insane # of web orders.

My gamestop.com order is now "processing". I hope I can get it on Wednesday. My only day off this week.

Unfortunately this happens all too often with pre-orders. I remember when I was thinking of pre-ordering My So Called Life for my GF, it turned out the preorders got them weeks after they were on retail shelves.
