I got to play some single player of PDZ today at Gamestop for about 30min or so. My initial reaction so far is that the game rates somewhere between okay and good, but definitely not great.

The controls are mainly what I had problems with. Maybe it's something that can be fixed in options, but by default they were extemely sluggish and it was difficult to aim. Also, I kept pressing down on the stupid left stick, making Joanna crouch.

The graphics were ok, but nothing spectacular. Some areas just seemed very bland. Same with NPC's...some looked pretty good, but some were very bland.

The only other issue I had was with ammo. I was playing in co-op mode, and on one of the levels I was in I completely ran out of ammo and couldn't find anymore. All I could do was use my melee attack, which doesn't work too well for exploding spider-bots or guys on jet-packs. Not sure if this is just a problem in co-op or what.

I'll probably go ahead and buy the game, but I'm just warning people not to have their expectations too high.

me and martin5 were at ebgames today and their demo machine didn't even have the HD setup right. i'm betting a lot more places don't have theirs set up right either which makes a huge freaking difference. i'm excited to play this game but time will tell if it is going to be PDz or CoD2 that takes best launch shooter award.

Looks like more multiplayer modes are already in the works as free downloadable content!

Counter-Operative mode, Scenarios, and both will be FREE!

They've also announced map packs, but those will cost you. No price announced.

So who's got the premium version, and is it worth it? I could only find the regular version in stores...

Just played the first mission and a game of 'Dark Ops'. So far the single player is fun, but nothing too great. Dark Ops on the other hand was a blast, and I can see that I will be playing that much more.

I'm going to try and send out Friend Requests to the people in this thread who have their Gamertags posted.

Most of my current buddies were not too interested in long lines and shortage trauma so they bailed on me.

Perfect Dark Zero is no Halo, and no Perfect Dark. Seemed realyl confusing and boring to me but I only played co-op for about half an hour. We'll see what happens over the next couple of weeks.

agreed. im kind of mad i bought it. did some co-op, ran around shooting spiders amd flying robots that never even shot back (not on easy mode either), then the next level killed everything again and spied ona few people...yawn. i hope multiplayer is better.

Played a little bit of PDz last night. Awesome game so far... I bet it will be a lot of fun online multiplayer.

Anyone, feel free to add me to your list and look for me online.

Yep. Not too impressed with it either. Played the first level solo and did some co-op. Nothing that couldn't have been done on the first Xbox. Hopefully it picks up tenfold as the game goes on.

I know i asked Canis last night in Halo, but can anyone who has played it online let me know if it uses the party system like Halo 2 does. It is so nice being able to form a party with your friends and spend the evening killing strangers

Also, all games on the 360 allow for the formation of clans correct?

Miyu, after some cleaning and prep work for thanksgiving dinner tomorrow, I plan to sit down a little with PDz. I'll try to set up a online game and let you know what it entails.
Unless someone here answers first.

Alright. This is 2005, Rare. I should be able to JUMP if I want. The fact that I can't completely ruins any sense of immersion. Had I known you can't jump, I would not have bought it.

Played about 4 missions so far, and I am liking it a whole lot. The graphics looks nice running on 720p, and I'm getting pretty comfortable with the controls. I'm not too big on first person shooters in general, but I really like this one. Constantly reminds me of an episode of Alias (which I like).

I agree with one of the posters above, it's really odd that you can't jump in the game.

Perfect Dark Zero: Display Questions

Sorry if this is a stupid question, but I noticed on the Options menu in the game, it had options for video/TVs. It automatically made the optimum picture for the type of TV you had, some of the choices were standard, LCD, Plasma, DLP and so on. Should I be matching up my TV with these choices? I noticed when I tried one, it would make the game darker.

Thanks!

I sent out invites to a few people. I wasn't trying to exclude anyone and I think I got most people in this thread that had their Gamertags posted. If anyone here wants to play go ahead and add me and make sure to mention this board and thread.

I finished it today on agent setting, it was pretty darn good, a little to short <spoiler> only 13 missions </spoiler>. I thought the graphics were pretty sweet on my 50 inch sony LCD.
