Score. I wasn't sure based on that article and I know not every XBLA game is online multiplayer. No-brainer stands.

Question: Is purchasing the only way to get "points" to buy these XBL Marketplace features? Are there plans for other means, such as acheivements or anything? Probably not...

They gave some away at E3. I expect more contests and giveaways in the future.

Galaga!!! I will probably get all the achievements the same day it comes out unless the controls feel very different from the arcade game itself.

a Kameo hardcore package featuring more difficult versions of the single-player campaign and co-op campaigns, new leaderboards, skins, and a new co-op game with competitive elements in July for 500 MSPs
That is awesome!

Do we know anything about if this is going to be the Full 1 player mode of SFII, as well as the online capability, or is it just going to be online?

Either way, it will be mine.

Has anyone had any trouble connecting portable mp3 players or thumb drives recently? I've plugged in both before and they worked great. Now when I plug in anything, it's not recognized. My wired controller seems to work fine, so the port seems to be working.

Is there some new setting from the recent patch that makes it so you have to allow different devices or something?

According to the newest Major Nelson blogcast at around the 32:30 mark, there will be a backwards compatible update next week. 20 titles will be added. Two of them are confirmed to be Doom 3 and Lego Star Wars.

Awesome. That's 2 of my 9. Hoping for one or two more in that mix. The 4 of those I'm most concerned with now are: BG&E, Conker, PoP2, PoP3.

And I just got an HDTV this weekend thanks to Best Buy's discount on the Westinghouse LVM-42W2 monitor. Two giant leaps made toward the 360. May need to wait for Santa, though.

Wow. I have the same wishlist. All four of those, Lego Star Wars. Add Advent Rising, Psychonaughts, Mercenaries & Destroy All Humans and you have my complete wish list for BC.

I wonder if you unlock everything in LSW if they will be accessable in the new game. A solid question that needs a definitive answer, IMO.

That's a good question, but for me it won't matter. LSW2 will be on the Gamecube for me because I know it'll work on the Wii. I suppose there's a chance this BC update will automatically allow LSW2 to work if the game engine is similar enough... That may be enough to change my mind, but I'll need to know prior to 9/12.

Those are four games I really want to see backward compatible too. I never actually played Advent Rising. During the whole development process, I was very interested in it. Once the game actually came out though, all the reviews I read said it was riddled with bugs galore and had a very choppy framerate. That turned me off, so I never bothered with it. Maybe the more powerful 360 could iron out some of the technical problems.

Mercenaries is getting a next-gen sequel, but I would still like to see the original on the 360. Destroy All Humans is getting a sequel too, but from what I have heard, it will only be on the current-gen PS2 and Xbox. Hopefully, there will be a BC update for it and its predecessor when it comes out.

Weird. I did two CoD2 dl's yesterday for maps. One allowed me to continue playing the game, whereas the other one wouldn't allow me to do anything until the dl was complete.

Yeah. I've never played any of those four on my list, they all just intrigued me, but I figured I would get them on the cheap. Now they are cheap but I can't play them. Go figure.

Yeah, but I'm not paying an extra 20 for that, especially since I don't know if/when I'll get around to getting a 360. If the Xbox version is known to be BC out-of-the-box then'll I'll go that way, otherwise Gamecube since I'm not buying a non-BC Xbox title ever again. If I'm going to automatically lose the ability to transfer my save, I'm certainly not going to pay a premium for it nor am I going to get it on a dying console with no guarantee of predecessor support.

my bad, I was thinking you had the 360, and you're right, the extra $20 is going to make it a hard sell, especially since I paid $10 for the first one.

Has anyone heard of any new updates to the dashboard?

Last night, I turned on my system and played a game. When I was done, I set it to boot to the dashboard instead of a game. forgot to do that when the update came out the last week or two.

today, when I turned on my 360 and logged into the dashboard, it said there was an update. downloaded it and system restarted. I can't seem to find what the update was about.

Nothing major, apparently. Just a Chinese language update.

My BC Wish List:

Beyond Good & Evil (even though I have it on Cube, haha)
Panzer Dragoon Orta
Jet Set Radio Future
Otogi 1 & 2

Besides BG&E, those are the games I'm probably going to hold onto if I ever sell my original Xbox.

Bah, nothing else for my remaining 7. What has the typical time between these BC updates been?
