The dashboard update hit today. I was home on lunch and put in gun. It said there was an update which I thought was weird. I put in the game yesterday and there was no update.
Put it in today and downloaded an update, my 360 restarted, so I knew it wasn't a game update.
Some stuff in the dashboard hase been rearranged.
And most importantly, background downloads. Woo hoo

Also added in the camera stuff in the dashboard in the last blade where you view your memory unit/hard drive and other settings.

You MIGHT have to format the Hard Drive with FAT32 to get it to work with the 360 though.

Maybe I am just missing something here, but werent we supposed to be able to Q up downloads while we were playing games? I already filled up my Q list and went into a game and its downloading in the background (which is really cool) but I thought we were supposed to be able to navigate the marketplace while playing a game and Q up more stuff.
Yes? No? Maybe?

No, I don't think that was ever an option that was planned. The biggest complaint was that once you start a download, you can't do anything else or it cancels the download.
now, you can keep navigating the marketplace, play a game, send a message, etc. Once you are in a game though, you only get the mini blade, which doesn't let you access the market place. You have to drop to the actual dashboard.

saving the shuffle setting and being able to switch it before you start your playlist is GREAT! So is letting it continue playing from game to game w/out stopping!
Oh! Starting up from Live vs. the game is also a huge plus!

one question--how does the DVD bookmarking work? Do you have to hit pause before you switch to a game? Stop? Do you get a verification that it will come back to that spot when you put it back in?

2 More Games join the $39.99 Party!
http://www.news4gamers.com/xbox360/News-893.aspx
With the launch of the Xbox 360 came the new game pricing point of $59.99 being pushed by most publishers (outside of Microsoft Games)...
Well, it is now time to rejoice fellow penny pinchers, as it is now being reported that two more games are joining the $39.99 party! Condemned and Riiidge Racer!

Retail Radar: Two more 360 games now $40?
Online retailers mark down Condemned and Ridge Racer 6, but Sega says former game remains full price "as of today."

When it was revealed that $59.99 would be the standard third-party price point for Xbox 360 titles, many-a-gamer lamented. After all, the cost of truly entering the "HD Era," as Microsoft executive J Allard once called the dawn of high-definition gaming, was already plenty high. Besides the $399 a premium Xbox 360 would set you back, gamers would also have to shell out at least $500 for an HDTV. That's not even counting the cost of a subscription to Xbox Live and high-speed Internet service fees for online gaming.
Last week, 360 owners got some good news when a slew of 360 games' prices dropped to $39.99. Ubisoft cut King Kong's cost, THQ lowered the price of The Outfit, and Electronic Arts discounted (deep breath) Burnout Revenge, Madden NFL 06, NBA Live 06, FIFA Soccer 06: Road to FIFA World Cup, and Tiger Woods PGA Tour 06. They joined a growing catalog of games already priced at $40, such as the just-released Rockstar Games Presents Table Tennis.
Today came word that two more 360 games would soon bear a smaller sticker price. The online stories for GameStop, EBgames, Amazon, and Best Buy all list Sega's Condemned: Criminal Origins and Namco's Ridge Racer 6 for $39.99.
But while Namco had not returned requests for comment as of press time, Sega did--to deny any price drop had taken place. "We are still at 59.99 for Condemned as of today," a rep told GameSpot. "Sega doesn’t have any product selling at 39.99 for the Xbox 360 at this time."
Calls to several GameStop and EB Games locations added to the confusion. Clerks at both stores said that Ridge Racer 6 was indeed priced at 39.99 new, but that Condemned was priced at $49.99 new.

Gamestop and EBGames are usually the first to post price drops. Just because they were $59.99 "TODAY" doesn't mean they are planning the price drop tomorrow.

The Oblivion patch is now out. I've had more weird glitches the past few days than I ever have since it came out. I'm happy to see the download but I need to hit up my favor money cheat just once last time before I update the game.

Halo 2 Hits Half Bill Mark, No Xbox 360 Port In Sight
By Joel Barish
That's a Halo big number
We always suspected that there were a lot of games of Halo 2 being played; we shudder to think how many games were logged just by the staff here at Xbox Today. Please don't tell our significant others.
But when the gang at Bungie announced that they've reached a cool half-billion Halo 2 games played, that actually made us stop in our tracks. A half billion.
You'd think with those kind of numbers they'd want to port it over to the Xbox 360, but they've got no plans to do so. Instead, they're going full steam ahead on Halo 3. Not that we mind playing Halo 2 on our 360s in the meantime, naturally.
Here's the official word from Bungie:
We've surpassed lots of cool numbers in the past, including numbers of total players, hours played and all that stuff, but we thought we'd note that at as of around noon today, a half-billion games of Halo 2 have been played on Xbox Live. That's a lot of games.
To clarify - that's actual games, not player-sessions. That also doesn't include games we lost because the website was down, or through other technical issues. Again, this proves that my scheme to attach Halo 2 sessions to my Paypal account would have been genius.
A half billion! WOW!
