No offense TF64 but granted the system hasn't "even" come out yet but still Huxley, Gears of War, Wardevil, Quake 4, and even GR Advance Warfighter are all very impressive. How they "play' will be the main test. I for one will be getting it. The more you read about it the more I'm convinced. It's a major collection of hardware giants that have their hands in making it and every software label has commited games to it. We're only seeing the tip of the "ice-box" now!

I don't have to work Sat. so I may see who's on Fri night. If not I'll shoot for Sat. night.

Yeah he's my brother and he's only been playing for like two weeks now so he will get better, the thing that pisses me off is I've been telling him to go get the damn map pack because he doesn't have anything else to do(lost his job) but he's too damn lazy. So last night it was basically shit on my brother and join up with the rest of the guys or make BeanDip Suffer through playing with my brother and his buddy. lol I did the right thing.

I don't know what's going on with the merging of the clans. I think most of my clan is lazy and has decided that it's far too much work, since we already have most of you on our friends lists. :)

So has anyone heard anything about xbox live's reaction to de-levelers? If you arent running with at least 2 buddies, when someone either quits or starts suiciding, it just f-ing sucks.

Is that what all those people are trying to do? It'll happen a few times in Team Slayer when I play. I just consider it an annoyance.

On those occasions when I am in Team Slayer and all of my teammates quit I resort to committing suicide in order to make sure the game is stretched to its absolute bitter end (I actually just want to waste the opposing team's time).

Basically, the moment the game begins, they begin killing themselves to cause your team score to go negative. They'll do this 5 or 6 times, then let themselves be killed by the other team a few times, and if the score is lopsided enough they'll quit. Otherwise they will hang around trying to insure a loss for your team.

Normally, they're pretty up front about it (they'll tell you in the lobby), but by that time it's a little late to do anything. The best you can hope for is to throw yourself into their grenade when they kill themselves so that they betray you and you can boot them; but by the time you can get that to happen twice, the damage is done.

There is a special place in hell for these fucktards.

i really think the only way to get rid of this crap is go non ranked, i guess that is why i like custom games so much no need to fear retards while playing customs.

Yeah. The Dude and I basically run nothing but TS, and it feels like we are road kill that attracts de-leveling vultures. I checked the bungie site, and its not a ban-hammer-able offense, since they aren't modding or anything. Dammit.

yeah i think thats the problem, bungie made an M rated game so people 17+ in age should have big enough balls not to do that, but between the parents who use the xbox/tv as a baby sitter and the ones who have no idea what Halo is just that their kids had to have it and the little nerds that got picked on in school but are adults now the whole ranking thing blows.

M rated game with ranking = 12 year old or 30 year old virgin both screaming, cheating, calling you a fresca drinking gay boy, using n00b combo plasma/br, killing their own team mates, screaming " I want the ball I want the ball", shooting you when you're about to capture the flag then they pick it up so they get the flag capture, using standby, using LAG, and just being so insecure they can't loose at a video game so they have to pull wanker moves to win.

and i'm sure if they didn't have ranking in halo that the retards would find some other way to kill the fun times for everyone else but....

Eh, I leave em feedback anyway. I had some kids get really pissed when I told them I was reporting them for griefing. They were all indignant about how "it wasn't cheating". My stance is that they are taking advantage of the ranking system and inappropriately modifying their rankings so that they can beat up on people who aren't as good as they are. That's fucking bullshit, and I'm leaving you feedback if you do it to me or in a game I'm playing in.

While on the topic of asshats playing Halo 2, what are the usual 'symptoms' of cheaters? There are times I suspect someone of cheating but I'm never certain.

Lag cheating usually occurs on the skirmish, not so much on slayer, and the 're-do' was supposed to clean most of that up. I dont see it very often since I suck at skirmish and never play. Most of what I have to deal with is de-leveling or just fuckers who quit.
A lot of being pwned can be chalked up to a plain old bad connection - after dying, check the hash marks to the far right of everyones stats, that gives you a good idea of everyone's connection.
One quirk I recently became aware of was on TS shotguns, the host will just dominate. When the game starts, hit the Start button - everyone but the host will have red Xs. Whoever is the host will apparently be about two feet closer than they appear, so shots from them are nasty.

Yeah. Team shotguns when you aren't the host majorly sucks.

Rumble pit shotguns as well, I'm convinced the winner is always the host.
