Nintendo DS price and dated

Maybe it's just a safety so people don't think the old games will work wirelessly? Although that would be cool if they did.

Well Nintendo put out their flyer for the holiday season which proudly features the DS.
Couple things of note. I don't know if this is already old knowledge but it seems that it will be backlit instead of sidelit.
It also stated, ". . .and play all your favorite Game Boy Advance games in single player mode."
What does that mean exactly? I hope it doesn't mean that you won't be able to play games requiring the game link. The port on the DS looks the same as on the GBA so why wouldn't it work with multiplayer?

If it can't do it at all it would definately be a reason to keep my SP.

Nintendo America has moved to confirm that the firm’s looming DS portable console will be region-free, in news that sees the firm maintain its stance on non-static hardware 15 years after the original Game Boy launched.
In a letter doing the rounds from the US office, Nintendo said, “The Nintendo DS will be a universal system that can be played anywhere on the planet. Further, it can play games purchased anywhere. Please note, however, that accessories purchased in different parts of the world may not be compatible with the Nintendo DS you purchase.”
Which is great news, opening up the expected slew of Japan-only hilarity (complete with low price tag) to those of a milk and meat disposition in the West. As you may know, Nintendo has hinted that in its native Japan, it may look to trial smaller gaming experiences for the DS to be launched at a lower pricepoint than the full-scale games we have already seen.
And this news piles yet more pressure on Sony Computer Entertainment to reveal anything tangible about its PSP strategy. If the firm is playing a wait-and-see game with Nintendo, it now surely has all the information on its competitor to make any last-minute decisions and move accordingly.
In other news, SPOnG has learned that the Nintendo DS’ wireless functionality will also be completely region free. This will enable US machines to talk to Japanese and European machines and so on, meaning that you will be able to make friends anywhere in the world by drawing a rude picture and beaming it to a stranger via PictoChat.
I think that last bit of news can be considered very important!

I'm not talking about wireless. What about through a plain old cable.

Is anyone worried that the first batch of the PSP will have "manufacturing defects" in it? Kinda like the PS2 and Playstation when they were first released?

It looks like Nintendo.com has some new videos for the Metroid and Mario games. I saw these screenshots for Metroid at the same time. It looks like they've been up a few weeks, but it'll resolve some of the questions about the control scheme.

So I got bored and sent nintendo an email in regards to the Wireless DS.
Damn them, I just want to know if has to be a totally open access point to use the wifi portion of the DS or not.
I guess I'll have to wait.
my email to them
In regards to the Wireless setup portion of the Nintendo DS.
Will there a way to enter a WEP (wireless Encryption Protection) or WPA (Wireless Protected Access) security keys in the Nintendo DS? Can you enter a SSID?
For example: I have an access point (hot spot) and it has been secured by WPA or WEP, I would like to know if I can set up the DS to use my access point, or will it only work with an open access point (hot spot).

With this supposedly being released next month, has everything been confirmed (price, etc.)? More importantly, when is Gamerush gonna start preordering these things so I can use all that DVD-trade-in credit?
