Dark Alliance 2 is out for Xbox.

It is very doubtful that Champions of Norrath will come out on Xbox, since Everquest is a Sony owned property.

Anyone having lockup issues on the Loading screen? Happened to me 2x- now I have to save at every checkpoint, just in case.

I heard that some other people have had this problem as well. I have not experienced it yet, luckily. One thing that supposibly works is when it locks up, open and then close the drive bay, that should fix it, and it will attempt to load again(Then again, I might be thinking of another game with loading problems....).

Well, after a week and a half of playing, I'm finally in act V. Hopefully I'll be able to beat the game tonite. It's a lot easier playing as the barbarian. ;p

I've had a few lockups, but I'm pretty good about saving at every checkpoint.

I think I'm near the end of Act IV, so there's not much left. I have been very impressed with the game. The only drawback is that money is almost useless in this game after awhile. I wish the shops would offer stuff worth more than what I find on the ground.

I think, all they needed to do was allow you to purchase gems at the shops, and money would then be very useful.

It's almost like they never even had anyone playtest this game, or they didn't listen. I am sure people would've complained ending the game with several million in gold.

Yeah, gem purchasing would have been great. I haven't found too many while in the game, so this would have been nice. I wouldn't have 500k in gold if this were the case.

This was one feature I liked in BG: DA2. You could upgrade your weapon with different kinds of gems.

Still a great game even with the minor flaws.

I spent SO much money in DA2 on crafting. I never had any spare cash because of it (unless I was saving up).

Anyone who has both BoN and BG : DA II want to make a statement regarding which they feel is the better game? I was torn yesterday at Best Buy, and ended up getting CoN. I spent 10 hours last night playing it! Very fun and addictive, no doubt about it. But, I did love the first BG : DA, so the 2nd seems like a logical choice.

Even though I haven't played either, I'm leaning towards picking up Dark Alliance 2 when it drops to a decent price because I'm interested in playing as the necromancer and my buddy and I are still playing through Dark Alliance 1 and having a great time.

I keep hearing that CoN is better but I'm not a big Everquest fan and would like to pick up the story where it leaves off from Dark Alliance. Plus all this 'gold is worthless' talk kinda makes me wonder about the game.

I have both games and I'd have to say CoN is better, but not by much.

The gameplay is tougher in CoN. The graphics and sound are also slightly better. I also think it has taken me longer to complete CoN than BG: DA2.

The one advantage I see BG: DA2 has over CoN is the weapon building system. You can do it in CoN, but you have to find the gems.

I know nothing of the Everquest universe, so the storyline in CoN is new to me. I'm not super interested in the storyline, as these games are just hack-n-slash fun to me.

I think Norrath looks a bit better, and is definitely more of a challenge (I actually died several times in Norrath!! don't think I ever did in BG2). As BigDave says, the weapons system in BG2 is much more in the player's control. With enough money, you can do anything in BG2, but in CON you are restrained by what you get off of enemies, and limits on upgrades per weapon/armor.

They are both great games if you like the hack and slash. The story is equally pointless on both of them I think.

I haven't played CoN two player yet.
Also, while CoN looks a bit better, I think the camera on BG2 may be a little less constrained.

My experiences are coming from playing two-player with my wife. I haven't really played either by myself, but I doubt that would really change my opinions on the game.

Clarification to my original post: I'm at the point where gold isn't 'worthless', but it's rather plentiful. We have starting dropping anything worth less than 1k. I currently have 160k. But *if* I find something at the shop that's worth my money, it runs 40-80k, so that's 1/4 - 1/2 my gold at any given time. And resale value isn't that great on the other items. The only reason I have that much money is that I'm playing a cleric, and can only use blunt weapons, and already have one I really like; and I found a set of True armor that I'm keeping until I can use.
I'm assuming money becomes more of an issue later on, but so far, the game is still fun.
We beat BG: DA 2 in about 11 hours of game play, so I would have been livid had I paid fifty bucks for it. We've gotten that much already out of CoN, and I'll probably play it again, maybe not with the cleric on a higher level, but with a different character type.

Well I finally beat the game last night. I'd have to say though, once you figure out how to beat the last boss, he/she's a joke. (don't wanna give the ending away for those that care ;p) Now, I've started a ranger. Is it just me or do rangers shoot arrows faster? I could've sworn my barbarian didn't shoot as fast.

If you're interested in picking up Champions of Norrath, you can get it for 32.88 next week (starting Mar 7th).

Target will have it on sale for 37.88 and there's a $5 off coupon at www.getintothegame.com

Here is a tip for melee only people stuck against Innoruuk.

Spoiler:
Since this guy is such a powerhouse, he can usually kill you with 2 melee hits. There is a trick where if he takes constant damage (like from fire or poison) he will occasionally drop his hammer. One tip I have seen was using a bow with one of those attributes.

Since I did not have a bow at all I was screwed as far as that goes. But, then I remembered those fire potions that shops sell. I bought like 40 of them and went into battle. Just make sure you have your weapon's hotkeyed with L1 and keep chucking the fire potions from a pretty good range, while trying to dodge his fireballs. When he does finally drop his hammer, switch weapons and pummel him with your strongest attacks over and over. I only had to make him drop his hammer 3 times before he died.

I'm probably going to pick this up tomorrow with the aforementioned Target deal. Any more glowing recommendations for the game? I plan on playing mainly single player and might be itching to try out my network adapter in a few weeks assuming I can free time away from FFXI.

Anyone still playing this? I got online the other night for the first time and the 20 minutes I played I was disapointed in the lack of games and players. I hear the connevtivity is not the greatest as well.
I wish MS would release Dungeon Seige for the XBox with Live palyability.
