Didn’t care for the Cold Open with all the Bidens. The new one just isn’t very good at that impression.

Pretty good episode. Yes, the cold open was off. Laughed out loud at "mellon" and "Weekend Update". And smiled like crazy during "What's Up with That?". Also, I love love love Brandi Carlile. Didn't know her prior to hearing "The Joke" for the very first time on some Sirius station about two years ago. And got to know her more on Stern. He's a huge fan and she's been his show twice. Her performances were great and I will definitely see her next time she's in my town.

what an odd show. It got progressively better.
Jason hitting on Ego in the parent teacher sketch was great.

Did Sudekis flip the bird in one of those SNL photo promos they show after a commercial break is over?
It was a good decent episode and I don't think Sudekis ever got the pops, praise, or huge laughs for everything he did when he was on the show but after Ted Lasso now people appreciate his humor.

What’s Up With That is funny and Sudeikis is always great in it - but it has to be the only recurring sketch that offers nothing new comedically.

Best episode of the season so far. Every sketch Sudaikis was in was great. And his appearance as the devil on Weekend Update was hilarious.

A/V Club had a good quote in praising Carlile's performance, that pretty much echoes what I've been saying about musical acts like Billie Eilish, Camila Cabello, et al:
Nothing against performers whose appearances on SNL are more about showmanship than live vocals, but I’m always predisposed toward singers who are actually singing. Call me crazy, but there’s more energy to that, and Carlile injected some full-throated gusto into the show.
