I hate Nate right now. A year ago he was the fucking groundskeeper. Ted gave him a chance to do way more than he ever hope, and this is how he repays him? I get that Nate has daddy issues, but he's an asshole.

The tenth episode No Weddings and a Funeral is the one that will win this show more Emmys etc.
Rarely have I seen a TV episode with so many laughs and such perfect heartbreaking drama pulled off over the course of 45 minutes.
Easily the best episode of the season and maybe the series, in my humble opinion.

I loved the finale… all of it. Every single scene.
So many laugh out loud moments.
And my only comment about the last scene is that it reminds me of a quote from Harvey Dent (Aaron Eckhart in The Dark Knight, “You either die a hero or live long enough to see yourself become the villain…”
The highlight for me though was…

As soon as we found out Rupert bought a team, it was clear that was where Nate was headed. Good stuff. Lots of loose ends tied up and some new ones opened.

That is fantastic writing - and it holds up. You could feel this coming with Nate the whole season. I’m glad they leaned into it and it’ll continue into Season 3. A great job from everyone involved!
And it was a great back half to those complaining that the first part of the season was too nice and sweet

I know I'm still behind but we just watched Beard After Hours and that was just fantastic. It was almost like something from another show, but then at the end you realize it gives the character so much depth and background and improves the show as a whole.

Nate is up his own ass about how he's been a very good tactician, but he's obviously going to find out you need more than that to be a good coach.

Turned into a great season after a weaker start compared to Season 1, IMO.
Loved the final 3 episodes. They really leaned in to the longer 45-minute episodes.

This season was very hit and miss for me. I really liked just about everything with Lasso, Beard, the players and the team shrink. I liked the idea of Nate’s arc, but thought the execution was a bit off. Pretty much anything pertaining to business, from Keeley’s meteoric rise to the relationship between a boss and an employee to a billionaire cartoonishly strangling a mannequin and pretending to shit on it felt like it was written by a high schooler. Rebecca’s personal growth was really done a disservice by the plot. Roy and Keeley’s relationship had some great moments, but also some bizarrely weird attempts to force tension between them that didn’t feel authentic at all. And fucking hell on rickrolling. That was tired the moment it became a thing and hasn’t gotten any fresher in the intervening decade+. So yeah, very hit and miss for me, but the hits were strong enough that I’m looking forward to seeing where they go with season 3.

Yeah I see a hat-in-hand moment at some point next season where he apologizes to Ted - and then his grey hair will magically change back.

Just started to watch this with my girlfriend because I have a three month trial of Apple TV+. Watched the first couple episodes and am really liking it so far.

Brett Goldstein told the Sunday Times they are writing Season 3 as the final one.
Hate to hear that. Hoping Apple makes Sudekis an offer he can’t refuse

Its sometimes nice to be left wanting more rather than getting more of a played-out idea. I like to see shows go out on top like Better Call Saul rather than dragging them out too many seasons.

That’s a shame if true as I really like the show, but I agree that it’s better to not drag it out.

I'm sure it's mostly Sudekis wanting to be back stateside. They can spin the series off in a million ways though.

Relegation > Promotion > Championship feels like a proper three-season story arc.
