I don't know that it's necessarily a bad thing. But the episodes play out in a way that they could do a video game version of this and it could be almost shot-for-shot the exact same as the show. Even has a playable tutorial on how to ride a blurrg before the big Jawa sandcrawler level. Again, I'm not complaining, but the comparison is way too big for me to ignore.

Good catch on the ice cream ma-- er, uh, safe from Cloud City.

And now the chase is on. I like that!

YES YES YES!!! Give me a Grand Theft Auto style of Star Wars bounty hunter game!

But ... but ... but ... nobody will watch it without lightsabers and Skywalker ... it’s all about Skywalker!!!!

Yes, THIS is what I have longed for. It’s about the world that was built, not a damned family tree.

I agree, you need a simple story to draw new viewers in (especially those who are not star wars fanboys), you don't want to over reference things but have a few

Good solid action scenes that everyone can relate to

We haven't discussed Mandy's updated armour and weaponry, that was cool.

Mandy's upgraded armor, like Threepios red arm and the Falcons square dish is genius marketing for toy sales.

Re: The Mandalorian: Chapter 3 (S1E3)- 11/22/19

Every time I think we're about to get another ally to get in that ship and be part of a ragtag crew, Mando stays solo, even with Bada in tow (Baby + Yoda = Bada, and yes, I made that up).

I wondered if Carl Weathers went to the ship to join him like an old friend. Then I thought he'd get blasted but stay on the ship. Neither happened, but I still wonder if he'll be an ally for Mando down the road. Mando did see where he kept his bars of gold latinum (or whatever) so I'm thinking he was blasted in that spot intentionally to keep him alive.

These guys are supposed to be badass warriors, right?

I would think those helmets would limit their vision something fierce. Very little peripheral vision, blinds spots all around, especially above you and to your left and right.

Of course, this is Star Wars, and stuff looks cool even if it's going to be horribly impractical to actually use. (Like AT-ATs.)

I’m pretty sure there are heads up displays in there - he’s not looking through a tiny t-shaped opening.

Loved this episode - and I think the episode length is perfect. Leaves me wanting more every time.

Yeah, I actually think the half hour time for the episodes is good. Maybe next season I’d expand the episode count to like ten or twelve if possible, but the length is fine. Half hour shows in general I find easier to watch, and while I would take more I do like that I get through an episode and want more. Plus this will make it easy to rewatch.

So I'm guessing the English translation of The Mandalorian....is "The Ultimate Badass".

I don't know... He'd be dead in 2 of the first 3 episodes if he didn't have help.

Am I the only one who felt the first three episodes were a literal feature film script split up episodically? I wonder if this was the forgotten Fett film repurposed with a more generic hero; some of the things in this episode, such as him needing to upgrade his armor would have made sense with a post ROTJ Fett.

Hard to say.... but I would gladly pay to see all three in the theater..either together or in a weekly format.

Nah. I mentioned it earlier, how the scene with the Jawas stripping Mando's ship and the ensuing chase seems like it could have been from a post-Sarlaac Boba Fett movie.

I actually wouldn't be surprised at all to discover that this was a repurposed and rewritten Boba Fett script.

Though I don't really see Boba Fett protecting a Yoda baby -- considering his history with the Jedi -- so that's likely a new conceit for the the tv series.

Someone made that up.

The show is too short to fill an hour slot and too long for a half (unless they trim). The future is streaming, not linear shitty broadcast TV. It’s not going to air in the Summer unless Disney decides to maybe air the pilot as a teaser to get people to sub (which is stupid since it won’t have a second season).

Uhhh, where did you pull that out of? They are currently shooting season 2 right now in Los Angeles.

Sort of like how you made up how it won't get a 2nd season

Bottom line: the helmet "rule" makes it easier to replace your actors with stuntmen and/or (if needed) CGI.

I'm still a little shocked by the overwhelming love for this series...not that I hate it (it's fun to watch), but it's pretty thin on story. It's basically one action sequence after another.
