Fantastic episode! Cool John Wick callback and even a little Rocketeer homage at the end.

32 minutes without credits on this one.

Re: The Mandalorian: Chapter 3 (S1E3)- 11/22/19

A lot of fun. This episode struck me that this series so far really plays out like a video game.

Level #1 - Pick up your blue gill bounty, get paid, get upgrades.
Level #2 - Pick up your yoda baby bounty, get paid, get upgrades.
Level #3 - Go back for the yoda baby bounty, get XP.

I don't know that it's necessarily a bad thing. But the episodes play out in a way that they could do a video game version of this and it could be almost shot-for-shot the exact same as the show. Even has a playable tutorial on how to ride a blurrg before the big Jawa sandcrawler level. Again, I'm not complaining, but the comparison is way too big for me to ignore.

Good catch on the ice cream ma-- er, uh, safe from Cloud City.

And now the chase is on. I like that!

I picked up on that video game thing as well, and I also thought about how the Mandalorians are all about "upgrades."

I like the show, but I don't think it's anything amazing. I don't even think the action set pieces are all that impressive.

I do like the vibe of the show, the main character, and of course the adorable Toyoda, but I wouldn't mind if they picked up the pace just a smidge.

Easily the best one that's aired so far.

That last sequence where the fellow bounty hunters helped out Mando was pretty awesome.

Even though we don't see his face, I liked that grew a conscience and started to get attached to the kid and then realized that nothing good was going to happen to him by Werner Herzog and company.

I love the show so I was already planning on watching it as it airs but yes, like GOT you want to watch ASAP as this is a water cooler chat worthy show that will be spoiled for you if you wait too long to view it.

Avclub has once again noted how great the score is for this series and how cool it was to see The Mandalorian engaged in battle with a baby in his arms just like Tequila in Hard Boiled.

Unlike some folks I already think this show is a masterpiece but I get that others may not agree and have no plans to get into a heated back and forth over opinions that differ from mine.

I do love the moment when he sees the gear shift fob is missing and when he screws it back on all sorts of feelings kick in and he decided to go back for the baby, that you can practically see this with a character who is always in a suit of armor is amazing.

Bad fucking ass. I love this show. The ending shootout sequence was amazing, and I love that Mando has a conscience and wasn’t just going to let the baby Yoda be put in whatever harms way was planned for it. Also cool to see the rest of the Mandalorians save him when he was in trouble. I can care less about length if we keep getting awesome episodes.

Wow. That was an awesome last half of the show. As soon as he went back to the compound where baby Yoda was being held. I love that it has such a gritty feel, which is why I love Rogue One so much.

So if these people never take their helmets off, how do they eat or brush their teeth? Do they ever sneeze?

You push a button on the helmet, and a little slider opens for food and water placement. A similar port for for toothpaste on a toothbrush. And internal nose wiping device. Yeah, sure.

Each episode feeling a little samsie for me. Still entertaining, but don’t feel as excited for the next episode as I did at first.

I don’t think the episodes feel too same-y. More just they’ve all been connected so far. First episode he’s after his bounty, second episode is traveling back after he’s acquired it, third episode is delivering it. Probably in some ways the show will play off better if binged because it almost feels like a movie only split into parts.

Okay, you're thinking way too hard about this.

When they said they never take off their armour, it doesn't mean it stays on forever.

Behind closed doors when he's off the clock, he could very well be eating and sleeping just fine.

Agreed. I've seen all the Star Wars movies and I like them well enough but this is the first thing I've loved. The scene in episode 2 where Baby Yoda is chasing around that frog and then cuts to him swallowing the frog is probably my favorite scene in all of Star Wars.

Re: The Mandalorian: Chapter 3 (S1E3)- 11/22/19

great episode. loved the band of Mando's coming in to save the day. Heavy armor Mando with the gatling gun was sweet.

The Mandalorian is now John Wick in space.

So will the show get a bluray release at some point for those of us who don't have Disney+?

Well if this is the best Disney has done with Star Wars so far I think I might like to see it. I don't have a supported device except for my phone to sign up for Disney+ right now.

I’ve also heard that Disney plans on airing the show on Network tv this summer. (I know I read it some where but can’t seem to find it)

Star Wars desperately needed this. Interest level in the franchise had to have been at all time lows, at least I know it was for me. Clean, taut story is so obvious but sometimes you just need something straightforward to get you back to basics. Favreau and/or Filoni should get the next Star Wars film/trilogy.

Get Disney+. It's only $6.99 per month.
