Not interested but I did watch the trailer. The character was shown to be pretty shady in Rogue One so I expect Disney to end up trying to undo that with this series.

Tony Gilroy, who is the showrunner and writer for the series, chose to not shoot this at the Volume sound stages in California according to this interview. He wanted to film it in Europe old school style.

Looks a million times better than the Obi-Wan series. Huge sets, real locations, grand world-building, dynamic space battles, and the story seems to be gripping.

re: Star Wars: Andor (Disney+) -- news, rumors, etc.
Showrunner Tony Gilroy clarified Wednesday that Andor will end with its second season, and the final scenes of its last episode will directly segue into the Rogue One feature film that came out in 2016.
There had previously been confusion as to how many seasons the Star Wars prequel series would last, given that the show essentially has a five-year plan around Diego Luna’s Andor.
The series focuses on Cassian Andor’s journey to discover the difference he can make, bringing forward the tale of the burgeoning rebellion against the Empire and how people and planets became involved after the destruction of Andor’s home world.
Gilroy, speaking at Disney+’s virtual TCA press day today, said, “We are covering one year in our first 12 episodes, that we’ve completed, in fact we’re finishing our final mix on [episode] 12 tomorrow. We are going to do another 12 episodes starting in November and the organizing principle for shooting is that we do blocks of three, so last year we were looking at the difficulty of doing five years, which seemed like it would take us the next 30 years.
“The answer elegantly presented itself; we’re going to take our four blocks of three [episodes] in the second half of the show and each block is going to represent another year closer. We really get to take the formative forging of Cassian Andor in the first 12 episodes and then we get to take that organism that we’ve built up and run it through the next four years in a really exciting narrative fashion,” he added.
He added that the final scene of episode 24 will “walk the audience directly into the first scenes of Rogue One.”
Luna added, “It makes complete sense because otherwise the last three seasons would have been animation; I wouldn’t be able to be part of it.”

This series has a chance at greatness since it is coming from someone involved with arguably the best Disney-era SW film and it’s not something that was formerly supposed to be a film (Obi-Wan, BoBF). A plan is a nice change.

This looks fucking fantastic! You could already tell that the show looks better than any of the previously released shows in terms of FX work.

Yeah, no matter how advanced technology gets, there's something about the organic look of real-world location shooting. Rogue One is the only non-OT film to capture that real look and feel of the OT and it certainly looks like it's continuing here. I've been excited about this show since it was announced.

lol, I was being quite serious. Nice to see this production crew has a plan compared to almost everything we've been given from Disney so far.

With Rogue One inching up to being my all time favorite Star Wars film, I'm counting the days!! The actors, writers, directors that are involved just makes me excited. On location shoots and that beautiful cinematography....how many more days?

12 episodes?!?
The trailer looks legit. How did they mess up Obi-Wan so badly with cheap sets?

Good stuff, I'm counting the days. The look of this series is so "real" for lack of a better term.

Is this show about Good Will Hunting being reassigned to be a liaison to the Ewoks and "Andor"?!

Apparently the first batch of episodes run about 30 minutes in length. A pundit who I follow on Twitter posted that he viewed the first few episodes. But I guess he jumped the gun because the social media embargo doesn’t lift until tomorrow.
The Mandalorian did a few 30 minute episodes. Just as long as their good.

I hope this is gritty and dark and absolutely crushes it in the reviews. I hope this is the show that finally forces Disney to get their heads out of their asses and give us more content that is bold and utilizes real world sets. I can't do another season of any D+ show with the lame sets that feel un-naturally claustrophobic.
