Totally a different direction then I was expecting. Are they digitally de-aging Diego Luna? I only saw one shot of him and he looked much younger.

Digitally de-aging a lead actor in a TV series would have to be cost-prohibitive.

Luna is 42, so he's at the age where he can easily go several years in either direction with the right make-up without any de-aging CGI necessary.

Luna also shaved all of his facial hair. He;s Mexican and has always had a youthful appearance.

He was pretty scruffy looking in R1, so I can see better hair and makeup doing the work there.

Seeing the Andor trailer on the big screen was amazing (at the Celebration main stage). It has the same look as Rogue One, with a lot more practical sets/locations than the other series. I wonder who the cinematographer is. Luna is back to sporting a beard, so I assume they are shooting the next season (which they announced on stage). They also mentioned how it would end, which is what I was hoping for.

That trailer is incredible. Amazing! That looks like movie-quality special effects and I'm very interested in this character and the story.

It's a good trailer, I wish my heart was into this series - but I have to be honest I'm just not. Hopefully if it's really good it'll win me over - but they have some real work to do after Obi-Wan. And it's a shame they already made Rogue One(imagine seeing that end the series for the first time) because it's just another reminder of how dysfunctional Lucasfilm is.

I changed the thread title, that's a good idea. It's likely (hopefully) worth creating individual threads per episode, with episodes 1-3 getting its own thread since they premiere the same day.

That was a great trailer. It actually looks like a Star Wars movie, not a TV show.

I heard this was actually filmed on location in Europe as opposed to the Manhattan Beach, CA studios the other shows were filmed it.

I don't let the fact that the main character is dead bother me on being able to enjoy this. Just tell a good and compelling story is all I care about.

I love this character, I know what happens to him, but there's still so much Rebellion era lore that looks to be covered here and I'm very excited.

Rogue One has become my favorite film of the entire theatrical series. This looks to carry on its style, scope and feel. I don't know what the budget on this was, but it looks to be pretty pricey based on the locations. Look like they are also going to cover the various "styles" of rebels with Saw's group being "recruited" (knowing that they are viewed as exteme/fringe rebels by Rogue One.

It doesn't quite work like that. This series has a different creative team than Mandalorian, Boba-Fett and Obi-Wan and they are all prepped at different stages. They can't wait for viewer feedback. Otherwise the show would never get done in time. From the looks of it, Andor is requiring a bigger budget and bigger scope that required them to shoot in actual locations in Europe as opposed to the Volume sound stages in California.
