Apparently, she wrote some episodes of Baywatch too. Just in case someone is into her for her brains.

Rewatching it it is cheesy but I rather like it more now that im older then I did when it was first airing.
While the Baywatch brand isn't that big anymore in America, the show is still massive in international syndication. It got a remaster for foreign markets.

9 seasons, 198 episodes - includes pilot + limited edition poster and booklet

Described by Entertainment Weekly as ‘the most popular show in the history of the planet’, Baywatch spawned a legion of international stars including David Hasselhoff, Pamela Anderson, Carmen Electra, Gena Lee Nolan, and Yasmine Bleeth. All episodes are now available in High Definition, upscaled to 16:9 cinematic widescreen. In addition, 350 original songs have been created to score the iconic Baywatch montages.

First airing in 1989, Baywatch broadcast into over 200 different countries, was translated into 48 languages, reached an estimated audience of 1 billion viewers worldwide according to TV Guide, and was awarded a Guinness World Record for having the largest global TV audience in history.

If you need to own this on physical media.

For the record, it's still available in HD on Amazon Prime and Hulu. Prime has 9 seasons of the original show. Hulu has the original show plus the 2 Baywatch Hawaii seasons.

I'm sure if you buy that set your probably end up with some scratched discs. Why not put it on bluray and you wouldn't need so many discs. I'll consider it but in addition to song replacements there will likely be edits as well.

$69.99 isn't bad for 9 seasons.

Re: The One and Only BAYWATCH Discussion Thread

I think they put it on DVD because it's cheaper to manufacture and will probably move more units than BD.

If they made this for BD, the MSRP will likely be $99 to $130.

For comparison, VEI released the BD for Stargate SGI, which is 10 seasons and it's selling for $130 right now, not on sale.

They could have used Nicole Eggert on the cover as well.

I have seen German season sets available on bluray and I assume they have all the original music.

Speaking of German and Baywatch. I live in Germany and a couple of years ago we got a new colleague at my old company. His name is Guy Newman, which is kind of the most generic name. I called him Newmie from day one. After a couple of months he asked me, why I was calling him Newmie all the time and I replied he reminded me of a character in Baywatch and believe it or not, he told me that Michael Newman is his uncle. I haven't thought about it in years, but the thread reminded me and I thought I share this little anecdote.
And I used to live on a street called "Am Haselhof" which kind of looks like Hasselhoff.

Missed opportunity. They could have used her on a glow-in-the-dark cover.

Maybe they have to ask her permission/pay her?

Re: The One and Only BAYWATCH Discussion Thread

Just discovered this is leaving Amazon Prime video in 4 days. I’m assuming the Prime video license is expiring. Whether they renew who knows. Weird that it was only a 2 year license. Baywatch Hawaii is listed separately as 2 seasons and it’s not expiring yet.

It is still on Hulu.

It appears that it was also added to the ad supported Roku channel.

So for those of you who slacked off on binge watching this, there are a few options left if it does leave Prime. Although the Roku channel with ads is not ideal.

It's also on Pluto TV (Free w/ads).

The only issue about Pluto TV is that you can't select any episodes and watch it. You can only watch what they air in each timeslot.

Re: The One and Only BAYWATCH Discussion Thread

That program on VICE TV about the 90s did an hour on Baywatch recently. Probably not worth a watch unless you want to learn about Toby's addiction problems and how Baywatch transformed plastic surgery.

You mean Hoby? I figured the Dark Side of the 90s was done with its season but I found the Baywatch episode on youtube so I'll watch it.

I think there is a place for shows like Baywatch and the Vegas show with James Caan. TV has become very very serious.

Re: The One and Only BAYWATCH Discussion Thread

Looks like a possible Baywatch TV reboot is in development. No creative folks are attached. Fremantle is looking for potential buyers either broadcasters or streamers.

By the way, the 9 season BD set is now down to $69.99

Amazon Amazon

You can still stream it on Prime Video or Hulu if you don't care about owning it.

I've always thought Baywatch could be a fun show for a reboot so I hope it happens.
