It doesn't help that the actress playing Kwan Ha is about as one note as you can get. We get it, she's an angry teenager but acting like she does she should by all rights be dead already. Fortunately the Spartans remain interesting enough.

I’m sure they are going to tie Kwan Ha‘s family to the Halo mythology but man are the doing it in a roundabout way. I doesn’t help that they are making her ungrateful and stupid.
I see why they inserted Cortana into Chief’s brain. He’s out of the suit so often that she would be limited any other way.
They only have six episodes left. I was expecting more Covenant vs Master Chief. Not the Spartan II program back story so soon in the series. I’m thinking the Halo ring will be more of a season two thing.

I never played, nor watched being played, Halo. Knew nothing about the background. Started watching the Paramount+ series and I am thoroughly enjoying it.

I had assumed the Silver Team actors were maybe standing on things to make them look huge. But they are all at least 6ft tall.

This is the first episode since the first in which we viewers got another taste of what a battle sequence in the Halo game would look like in a live action setting. You had the opening 10 minutes in the first episode, and then this episode closes things out with a nice battle royale between the Spartan's and the Covenant troops/warriors. Very, very, nice. I am not a Halo gamer, but am also enjoying the heck out of this show.

Inhumas99 I think it helps if you're not a Halo Gamer... particularly if you're not a Hardcore Halo Gamer. I say that because the harshest critics of the show on the Halo and Paramount+ pages/groups seem to be the Hardcore Halo gamers who just want, no helmet removal and more Pew pew pew!!!
i love the games but i still love this series.

I played the first few Halo games and really enjoyed the mythology behind it all and I think the series is doing a good job of focusing on that aspect. The background of the Spartans is a little less interesting mostly because we've seen similar stories done before in other sci-fi movies like Soldier. Finally got to see the Needler in action though so I'm happy. And kudos for casting actors who can physically play the Spartans instead of going the Jack Reacher route of trying to make us believe that Tom Cruise is 6' 5".

The writer’s ability to make Kwan more unlikeable every episode is impressive.

So sad this episode was only 39 minutes!
Definitey not loving the kid story. She’s very bratty and it’s a chore to watch. Also iffy on the human/alien girl story.
I thought the coolest parts of the battle were MC throwing his empty pistol (
) and him picking up a shot gun and going to town.
I’d really like to see MC and the other Spartans go rogue or an off story with just them that mimics Halo Reach. If season 2 does take place on Halo, it might be nice if MC is alone and doesn’t have UNSC backing.

I know I am in the minority, but I like the kid's story in the show, as it is on behalf of folks like her that the Spartans end up having to kick Covenant butt. Of course, the kid also has issues of her own beyond avoiding getting caught in the crossfire between the Spartans and Covenant warriors, as she is getting a glimpse into the politics and corruption of her own community.

I’m really enjoying this show and look forward to it each week. I think it’s partially because I don’t know what to expect.
I thought Chief’s test of Cortana to almost kill Halsey was an interesting twist.
Glad we got a break from Kwan this week. Still don’t like that human girl. That nurse (?), better point out she tried to kill her with the blade finger!

I mostly enjoy the stuff with Master Chief and the Spartans, but the rest of the show isn’t really doing anything for me. The plot with Kwan is a boring momentum killer and Burn Gorman’s character is a pathetically uninteresting villain. The production values also seem all over the place. Sets, costumes, cg and practical effects all look decent in some scenes and like shit in others. I could see this growing into something I really care about, but if it stays at the current level, I’ll probably bail at some point next season.
