A Kwan-centric episode? Total buzzkill! Why does anybody think that boring, petulant children make for good cinema? It's a constant problem with Hollywood writers.

She's getting as much screen time as the Master Chief or Halsey. I have my differences with the game purists, but I hope we can all agree that UNSC vs Covenant should be what this show is about.

You can’t make me like Kwan. I don’t care how much time they spend on her.

Can the Covenant please just nuke Madrigal from space so we can be done with the storyline that absolutely no one, including the actors judging by their lousy performances, cares about? If Kwan somehow becomes the savior of mankind then I'm rooting for the Covenant.

Re: Halo: The Series (Paramount+) S: Pablo Schreiber -- premieres 3/24/22

Love or hate the Kwan episode (at worst, I am indifferent), at least we got to see Bokeem Woodbine being a bad-ass, and I always enjoy a great explosion (and the destruction of the gas drill was indeed well done).

This episode also acted to clear the table and get rid of the big-bad on Madrigal who does things like shoot a woman in the back when they are giving him news that he does not want to hear. Since I did not care for that story-line I am glad they just got rid of the villain on Madrigal and are moving on.

Maybe someone in the writers room realized that the glimpse into the politics of the opposing factions on Madrigal was missing something that might have made this side-story in Halo click with the audience, so they just decided to get rid of the dastardly villain who at least went out in style being incinerated by a big-ass explosion.

Also, I have been watching the Halo after show immediately after each episode, which has been pretty cool, you get an interview with an actor from the show, a super-fan bit, and a behind the scenes glimpse into all of the special effects and practical effects that you see on the screen. Watching the making of the big fights at the beginning of the first episode, and of the big fight at the end of I believe episode 4 was actually pretty cool.

I enjoyed the Kwan ep way more than I thought I would. Clearly they are building Kwan and Soren up for a reason and i appreciate that. I'm trusting the show to payoff this this story line. By the end you could see they had a new appreciation and respect for each other.

Agreed. I didnít hate Kwan for the first time since the first episode. Also Iím glad Soren got his ship and payment.

Great point Kdogg, I forgot about how Kwan has a nobility to her and scruples and is all like nah bruh...you do not owe me anything more, in fact, I owed you a ship and a ton of money and if you agree to call us even for now, that is great in my book. There was a lot to like in this episode, also, happy to spam this thread to say again, hot damn, the effects folks did an incredible job blowing up the Madrigal drilling site. That was fun to watch.

Yeah, when the drilling site blew up it reminded me of Foundation -- the scale was off the hook.

Re: Halo: The Series (Paramount+) S: Pablo Schreiber -- premieres 3/24/22

I actually liked this episode quite a bit. The only thing that seemed really off was Soreen getting back and forth to Madrigal so quickly. At first I thought it was a dream sequence.

Hopefully this means weíve seen the last of young and brash Ha. I do think the plot shift could have played out later if there were more episodes at play, but Iíll take it.

Pretty cool how she found MCís gun. They definitely had to of planned that one out.

I echo what a lot oft our have said about the effects. Some scenes like the cars through the desert, the town, and Ha looking out over the vista looked fake. However, the explosion and Soreenís ship taking off were good.

Cortana played out as I expected. I didnít expect Halsey to be so willing to burn everything down in service to her ambitions.

Re: Halo: The Series (Paramount+) S: Pablo Schreiber -- premieres 3/24/22

-Halsey is trash.
- Halsey's Plan Z was not surprising. Again..she is trash. 🤣
-Kai's scenes with the marines was badass and fun. That's a strong Chick. 🤣
-Spartan fight was awesome. (I do hope all 4 end up a team again)
-I dont blame John for smashin' Makee. The actress is delicious
-I do wonder if Spartan's fuck. I mean they are humans at their Prime. Even with the pellet in and emotions being cut, one still might want to get the dick wet/pussy jabbed 😲💦
- after they showed the destruction im wondering if Reach will get destroyed in the finale...

Master Chief is a 40yr old virgin. You think he’s picky?

Im enjoying this show quite a bit and the special effects are top notch. Its not the greatest ever but I think its well better than its metacritic score. I'm guessing with how much was already spent we are getting a season 2?

Re: Halo: The Series (Paramount+) S: Pablo Schreiber -- premieres 3/24/22

On the after show the actress that was interviewed just casually talked about being excited for what was to come in Season 2, so it seems like Paramount+ is not too concerned that the actors are maybe just assuming that we will see another season, after all, this show has become one of Paramount's most popular shows to watch on Paramount+.

I think no one will be have their shocked face on when a second season is officially announced.

I did love that since everyone in the fight was a super soldier that you get things like vehicles being used to try and pin someone against a wall, just crazy stuff that was fun to watch. I also like that Makee is a more nuanced character than just being brainwashed and following orders to infiltrate/kill the enemy. She is conflicted about her actions, but now that the cat is out of the bag that she basically slaughtered an entire ship of humans her future is about to get mighty interesting.

As a non Halo player, I just am really enjoying this show as a fun Science Fiction action/adventure drama with some above average special effects.

It was renewed a month before the first episode aired.

The writing is on par with 90s syndicated fantasy shows, but the effects are nice and it is occasionally entertaining.

And Season 2 was announced in Feb: https://deadline.com/2022/02/halo-re...nt-1234933934/

Never thought I’d see Master Chief fuck a Covenant spy while Cortana watches.

Saying, “I was just following orders” when accused of murdering the crew of a whole ship is never a good look.

She’s going to claim she was coerced, and they might believe her, but we know that isn’t true. Also, she removed her digital weapon, so a body scan won't find it now. Bizarrely, nobody noticed the missing tip of her finger. On the other hand, the cinematographer made a point of showing her sloppily pushing the weapon module behind the sink during cleanup, so perhaps it gets discovered later.
