What device are you using? I watched it via Apple TV 4K. It was in Dolby Vision but standard DD 5.1 for sound. I watched it again tonight via the PS5 and it was in HDR / DD 5.1. I turned on the DTS: X Neural to get some more oomph.

This was epic. I donít see how a pilot for a Halo series could be any better. It had everything. Already paid off all the fan service and action in the first 10 mins then spent the rest of the time setting up the players and intrigue for the rest of the series. Iím in total disbelief a live action Halo finally materialized.

Not that I really care what they think, but it isn't? Sure felt like Halo to me, except for the helmet coming off (and a plot I sort of understood).

Yea much as I complain about trek sucking mostly. This show was great. I barely pay attention to the stories of Halo's haven't for years now. Just on to the next mission. I was amazed at how far they took this as some mention. Wild. Show might still suck , might not but that was a heck of a start you ask me. Way better than I expected.

Paramount+ team claims most streamed Pilot. I definitely plan to continue to watch, and was almost hoping that 2 or 3 episode chunks at a time were being released.

Yeah I'm surprised we didn't get at least the first two. That seems to be a good way to get the "pilot and the next one" out there to hook people.

I really enjoyed this. As someone who has played all the FPS versions to completion (and read a few of the books too), it definitely felt like HALO. But that story is also so convoluted that I fully assumed they'd be doing their own take on it.

Just seeing a real-life Warthog roll up was pretty awesome. And I was genuinely shocked by the level of gore.- probably more realistic when hit by weapons like that but still, it was unexpected in a good way!

Re: Halo: The Series (Paramount+) S: Pablo Schreiber -- premieres 3/24/22

I finally watched the 1st episode. Honestly, I didn't love it, but there were things I liked. I liked the setting, the suits and the world they set this in. The opening sequence with the attack was pretty cool and then Master Chief and his platoon coming into help was pretty badass.

I'm an extremely casual fan of the game. I know you can't make a TV series solely based off the FPS concept. So I understand they have to build a mythology. Not really into it yet.

I don't get it. What are they complaining about? Granted I'm more of a casual fan. More of a fan of the games then the mythology plot. When it started having giant sentient worms is when I stopped paying attention. The mythology of Halo is pretty great though. Doesn't seem like there are any "fanboys" in this thread. I really wonder what they are so enraged about. I'm fine with him removing his helmet. I get why that would make some mad but what works for a video game won't necessarily work for a TV show. And actually I was pretty impressed by how much fan service they put into the episode.

Is Halsey as evil as the show is making her out to be?

Not Evil in the show but driven and a true believer in her work to the point where she steps on folks to advance it.

Was she in the game? I remember a male Halsey. Its been years..

Halo has primarily been about Master Chief vs The Covenant, not Master Chief: Outlaw with a heart of gold. So I kind of get where they're coming from.

But on the other hand, eh. It'd be really hard to make a series that was like the game due to general lack of human on-screen characters.

Is Halsey supposed to be a descendant of Fleet Admiral William Halsey?

Good point, But I think he was a fugitive going against command in at least one of the Games. Halo 5 maybe?

Good second episode expanding on the mythology and Master Chief's origins. Not action packed like last week's, though.

I'm so glad they have a nice mix of Spartans with the 2 women and 2 men. Also love how they make them tower over the standard Marines kinda like they do in the game.

The Prophets look amazing. The CGi for them looks great and I love that they went with an Alien language. The Covenant is made up of various Alien species/cultures, I'm wondering if we'll see other popular Covenant Aliens species.

Re: Halo: The Series (Paramount+) S: Pablo Schreiber -- premieres 3/24/22

I wonder how the Prophets were able to determine that Makee can locate and activate Forerunner artifacts. It seems unlikely they'd do anything other than execute a human child given what Covenant soldiers were doing at Madrigal.

I assume that Reach doesn't yet know that Covenant soldiers are a different species from the Covenant leadership.
