I immediately guessed Model T

I knew the 1908 year meant they were talking about the Model T Ford, but the word "these" makes it sound like they are looking for the more generic answer or at the very least leaving it open to both answers. Had the used the word "this" instead, it would have been clear they wanted the more specific answer and "cars" wouldn't have been a correct response had they done so. When the New York times published the clue, they changed the word from "these" to "this", making it clear that the way it was worded on the show was misleading.

The current Jeopardy champ, Troy, was reminding me a lot of the late actor, Christopher Reeve.

Not sure a "highschool reunion" tournament should be having people that graduated less than 5 years ago

It features previous contestants that were in the high school tournament(s) several years ago, that are now in college.

There was one guy still in high school, which I found kind of funny to be in a "high school reunion". He was in 8th grade the first time around.

Speaking of High School, my high school yearbook became a Jeopardy question last week.


To be fair, I lived there 20 years in total and have never heard anyone from Oahu ever be referred to as an Oahuan.

Anyone catch the cocky Jeopardy! contestant that blew a sure win, tonight?

She had enough to shut her opponents out when she found the second Double Jeopardy clue.

Instead of playing it safe, and placing a minimal wager, she wagered $10K.

She missed it and then could potentially be caught by either of the other contestants in Final Jeopardy. She missed that, too, and lost.

I'm sure Ken was thinking WTF are you doing???

That wager didn't make any sense. By the look on her face, it seemed like she enjoyed getting the audience cheers when she wager big on the first daily double and got it right, and then wagered big again to get a similar reaction from the audience.

I'm always screaming at the TV about contestants not going for the win and doing weak Daily Double bets but this lady did the complete opposite and it blew up on her.

I didn't really think she was being cocky as much as she was just caught up in the moment and not thinking strategically.

The night before was also a really bad bet on the last question. She had the DD and could have bet enough to give her the guaranteed win had she got it right, but still had the lead if she got it wrong. Instead she went somewhere in the middle. Lucky for her, she got the FJ right and it was a moot point.

I was surprised no one got the correct question for Final Jeopardy tonight in the category of Television History. Once they read the clue, I thought for sure this would be one that every contestant would be able to answer correctly, but they all missed it. They were all of the age group that they would have been familiar with both shows too.

I missed it, tonight, but just looked at the question on J! Archive. I agree with you. It seemed very obvious.

I didn't know the correct answer, but I was able to guess it quite easily.

I wouldn't have gotten it, and I'm old enough to have known it, but I never watched Magnum or Five-O.

How old were the contestants?

Simple for me, but I watched a lot of the original H5O in reruns. Probably need to be at least mid-40s to have a good idea of it, unless you watch a lot of the classic TV channels.

Yes. As long as you knew Magnum P.I. took place in Hawaii, it seems like an easy guess.

Alex used to mention, now and then, that you don't necessarily need to 'know' the question (Jeopardy style!), but can often figure it out based on the answer. This is certainly one of those cases.

Mrs Danger did watch Magnum PI, but she didn't know that it took place in Hawaii. She thought that it was California.

I have never watched an episode, but I knew that it took place in Hawaii. That was all the information I needed to answer correctly.

The recent Hawaii Five-0 and Magnum P.I. shows had a crossover episode too. Oh well...

One was in his thirties but the other two looked north of sixty.

Two of them didn't answered MASH, which didn't make sense since it would be common knowledge to most that MASH took place in Korea and there wouldn't likely have been any probable connection between characters from the two shows.

I don't think I've ever seen an entire episode of the original Hawaii 5-0 and have only seen a handful of Magnum P.I., but I knew Magnum took place in Hawaii and it was a no-brainer where Hawaii 5-0 took place so it was easy for me to conclude what the solution was.
