Re: Hallmark Channel's Countdown to Christmas
Vudu has two Hallmark double features on sale right now.
Hallmark 2-Movie Collection: A Winter Princess & Winter Love Story (Bundle) for $14.99
Hallmark 2-Movie Collection: Paris, Wine and Romance & Rome In Love (Bundle) also for $14.99
These are good choices...FandangoNow has these same two bundles for a $1 apiece less.
Many here on this forum have said they really enjoyed A Winter Love Story with Jen Lilley. Both bundles feature her in one of the movies. I ended up buying both bundles..I especially love both of the two Winter movies.

I have a friend who's a big Hallmark fan (and knows the people who do the official podcast), but won't pay for them because she can just record them on cable. I'm fine paying $4.99 for them, or even a little more for my favorites (I think I got A Nutcracker Christmas for $9.99 with no regrets).

Re: Hallmark Channel's Countdown to Christmas
Same I try only to spend $4.99 for a movie but I HATE commercials and do buy my favorite movies. There was a summer sale for a few other movies recently and Rome in Love was $4.99 but I decided on both bundles. Was also waiting for the prices to drop from $12.99. That's just too expensive for these movies even tho I enjoy them. Winter Love Story and a Winter Princess are two of my recent favorites so that bundle was a no brainer!

I might consider buying the Summer Nights Bundle that includes two Rachel Leigh Cook movies.

I added the Murder She Baked collection to my library as the movies work out to $2.50 each. This collection doesn't include the last movie. Wish there would be a sale on the Signed, Sealed Delivered titles!

I haven't seen any of the Gourmet Detective movies. Are they good? Price is right. Also have not seen the Flower Shop Mysteries. I believe they will be doing another Gourmet Detective installment.

Re: Hallmark Channel's Countdown to Christmas
Just watched Love Under the Olive Tree, or Love at the Olive Garden, or whatever the title is. Pretty standard fare with leads who were unfamiliar to me, but I did learn some things about olive oil.
I’ll probably get a bunch of things in the bundle sale, even those oddball mystery/food titles that are cheap enough to take a shot at. It’s unfortunate that I had already bought those Jen Lilley bundles, but that’s OK. I’d rather have bought them on sale and missed out on a deeper sale than to have missed them altogether. As I mentioned before, I was considering paying even more for Winter Love Story, and I’ve already rewatched it since purchasing,

Re: Hallmark Channel's Countdown to Christmas
I have two of the Bundles with Jen Lilley and like these movies the best of all these bundles. Paris Wine Romance and Rome in Love have good story lines, good dialogue (nothing cringe worthy) and a likable supporting cast. The story lines are more original and less predictable. The scenery is fun and the on location in a foreign city are neat. I live in Bend. Funny to see that the main character in Rome in Love hails from Bend Oregon. They did not shoot anything in Bend nor mention any of our local attractions.
I was disappointed with Royal New Year's Eve. Sam Page is a good actor. His attempt at a British Accent is terrible in this film. Too bad he tried it. There are other Royal themed movies that are better movies. I liked Debbie Gibson in Summer of Dreams. Thought the first movie was better than the sequel.

Re: Hallmark Channel's Countdown to Christmas
I think I saw Story of Us last year and thought it was pretty good. Paris Wine and Romance I also liked, though it’s not my favorite Jen Lilley vehicle. I don’t think I’ve seen many of the others in the sale. December Bride was OK.
I ended up buying a bunch of the bundles: Mr Darcy, Story of Us/Vineyard, Gourmet Detective, the Summer trio, the HOF trio, and Murder She Baked. As mentioned, I think they were blind buys except for Story of Us.
Funny that you’re from Bend, mk. I have a Seattle friend who raves about it, and another friend who lived there for work for a couple years. We were going to visit, but it was too long a drive to fit into the weekend.

I have already been warned in another thread not to get political and save it for the Political sub-forum that is active on DVD Talk, but I just want to point out that on August 15th, 2020 something happened on the Hallmark Channel that was historic and the world did not even spin of its axis because of this historic event. I will just leave it at that. For what it is worth I really enjoyed the film.
ETA: I am so impatient, I know the Fall Harvest films are due in Sep. but I am so used to Hallmark originals airing on a Saturday that it is a bit of a bummer to have to wait another week or two for more originals to start airing, but all things considered I am genuinely appreciative of all of the original content we have received from Hallmark so far this year.

Re: Hallmark Channel's Countdown to Christmas
Just watched A Wedding Princess, the second part of the winter bundle with Winter Love Story. I hadn’t seen it before and liked it.
Hmm, if Snow Bride is about the writer chasing a story who crashes into a snow bank, that’s the one I saw. I honestly don’t know if I’ve seen December Bride as many of these run together.
Ha, I recently saw Wedding Every Weekend and noticed the event being mentioned and was going to talk about it here. The channel does appear to be opening up, as the Olive Tree movie had a clearly gay couple, but they didn’t explicitly say it. Good for Hallmark. Sometimes they’ve dropped mixed couples in as supporting couples as well.

I just watched a couple movies from each of the Gourmet Detective and Murder She Baked series, and enjoyed them enough to pull the trigger on the Flower Shop series as well.

Yeah...the Gourmet Detective films are superior, and it does help that Dylan Neal and Brooke Burns have great chemistry with each other. I have seen all of the Flower Shop/Murder She Baked/Gourmet Detective films and the Gourmet ones are at the top of the list replay value wise.

Re: Hallmark Channel's Countdown to Christmas
Love on Harbor Island was good. Love in the Forecast was fine but not one I'd choose to watch again.
The Hallmark app seems to have added a feature to mark movies as a favorite. I'd suggested having a rating option to help me keep track of which ones I liked, but this is a decent option. There doesn't seem to be a way to view my list of favorites, though.
I'm finally replacing my old DVR, which was very sporadic in recording in playback, so I look forward to being able to watch stuff more easily now. Unfortunately that means I lose my recordings of some of my favorites that haven't been commercially released like Love Always Santa and Hearts of Christmas, but I should be able to re-record them during the holidays.
