I wish this show and Arrow could have a crossover so i could have Simmons and Felicity on the same show.

The 34 percent drop-off proves that you only have one chance to capture a big audience, so you better not screw things up. As I mentioned in last week's thread, I'm guessing by Thanksgiving we'll be discussing if this show is even going to get renewed.
I'm wondering how long before ABC decides to move it to Friday night?

I finally got around to Ep 2... it was hokey, poorly acted and filled with cheese. There is nothing deep about the plot, dialogue or characters and Coulson comes across like a "know it all" dick -- which is good because his team is a bunch of whiny babies who need to be whipped into shape. Aren't they supposed to be the best in the world?
The best actor on the show is Ming Na and I think she said 4 words. If anyone is still watching this show it's because it's Marvel and not because it's well written or produced. I'm out.

Apparently after a huge pilot this show had one of the biggest viewer drop offs in Nielsen history. I doubt it goes anywhere because it's a piece of the Marvel universe though.

People really don't give things much time. Sure there are a lot of factors that go into that. Some may have just been curious, others not all that entertained. Limited time so everything they watch needs to be amazing in their eyes. I'm not picky at all and have the time.Originally Posted by Shannon Nutt

That scene with the raft plugging the hole on the jet instantly jumped into my top 10 list of most unbelievable things I've ever seen in an action movie/TV show.
Also, it felt really weird to think of coulson as having relations with that chick.

Didn't ABC Family air both seasons of Legend of the Seeker (I miss that show so much)? That show had quite a body count and oftentimes there was bloodletting during the numerous deaths.Originally Posted by Eric F

Watched it this morning and I was unimpressed. Ming-Na is still the best thing about this show and she had three lines. Throughout the last half of the episode I felt like I was watching The Avengers: didn't we already see the whole bringing the team together for a common enemy thing in the film and they referenced it multiple times in the pilot. You can bring in elements from the film but to transport plot points wholesale is a bit much. I'll give it another episode or two but if it doesn't improve I'll move on.

Or just fire them both and replace them with comedian Greg Fitzsimmons. The show's already a joke anyway, amirite? Originally Posted by Numanoid

Does it being a comic book show somehow excuse it from being poorly executed?

I really don't notice most of the issues many people have. For the most part I'm okay with a show based on a comic world being "comicbookie" I think some of the movies can even stop trying to be so dark and based on real life. Marvel is doing fine not worrying about being super realistic that everything seems to be obsessed with. (Not that I don't like things to make sense within the world they created)Originally Posted by Tommy Ceez

yeah, the raft "plug" was ridiculous considering how flimsy it looked. did anyone also groan when the raft filled the hole in the plane, then the guy sat down in relief, and lean back into it? ROFL. I was so hoping he'd get sucked out due to his stupidity.
this show sucks. I'm actually wishing it was MORE like 'Heroes'. Shoot me now.

Given the studio behind it and the franchise it is a part of, Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D should at the very least be better than Arrow but instead feels like a mid-90's production done on the cheap. If the Action Pack still existed, Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D would be one of its lesser shows. Okay, that's a little harsh. It'd be one of the mid tier shows.

I think M.A.N.T.I.S. had better production values.

I still don't think it looks that cheap, although obviously some of the effects are poor. Seems about right for a TV show to me.
The episode was kind of boring, about the same as the pilot for me. The plots just aren't that interesting so far, and the characters are bland and cliched. I don't mind the discussion and references to the events in the movie; I think thats a silly complaint, since they're SHIELD and directly dealing with the fallout from Avengers so of course things will be referenced. It's everything else that isn't particularly good or interesting.
I'm still going to keep watching a few more weeks, but I wish it wasn't just a bunch of cliches over and over again.
